lol omg ok so if you search on youtube "minecraft with gadget without gadget" there should be a video at the top called "Calm - Minecraft" which should be the one with gadget edited out (the thumbnail is misleading bc it's like a bait and switch thing)

I have known about Project Euler for some time now but I have never actually gotten about solving them. I figured they were all super simple and are not a big deal, but last week I thought of incorporating coding into my daily schedule. I should be doing it already since I am currently pursuing Software Engineering and I have to go through a rigourous placements procedure. But better late then never I guess. So yea, I just started, lets' see how long it takes for me to have more yellow boxes than white.

Project Euler #2
Each new term in the Fibonacci sequence is generated by adding the previous two terms. By starting with 1 and 2, the first 10 terms will be:
1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, ...
By considering the terms in the Fibonacci sequence whose values do not exceed four million, find the sum of the even-valued terms.

큰 문제 없이 풀었다. 포럼 보니 비슷하게 푼 사람도 많은 것 같고, 수학적인 원리(원주율과 피보자치 수열의 관계)를 이용해 더 쉽게 푼 사람들도 있었다.
Project Euler #1
프로그래머들이 문제해결능력을 기르는 데 활용할 수 있는 문제들을 아카이빙해 놓은 프로젝트 오일러. 가급적이면 1주일에 5일 정도는 한 문제씩 풀어보려고 한다.
첫 문제는 다음과 같다.
"If we list all the natural numbers below 10 that are multiples of 3 or 5, we get 3, 5, 6 and 9.
The sum of these multiples is 23. Find the sum of all the multiples of 3 or 5 below 1000."
즉, 1000 미만의 수 중 3의 배수이거나 5의 배수인 수들을 모두 더한 합이 얼마인지를 묻는 문제다.

그런데 풀고 나서 보니,
Temp라는 변수는 굳이 필요하지 않았다. 그때그때 Sum에다가 i를 바로 넣어줬어도 되는 거니까.
처음에 컴파일했을 때 답을 맞추지 못했는데, Temp=i를 넣어야 할 자리에 Temp=1을 넣었기 때문이다. 이상한 실수...
프로젝트 오일러 포럼에 나와 있는 답들을 보는데, 워낙 다양한 프로그래밍 언어로 풀기도 하고 아직 내가 모르는 문법들이 많다 보니 사실 알아보기가 힘들다.
gitHub gist 끼워 넣는 것도 처음 해 보는 건데 다음에는 파일 이름을 지정해 주는 게 좋을 것 같다. 그리고 embed하려고 생각하니 포스팅 만들기가 꽤 어렵다. 익숙해지려나?
290817 - Precourse Completion
whew - finally completed the pre-course work for GA! tons of work more to do before i even get vaguely familiar with working things out on python, but i must say it has been an eye-opener. the statistic parts were particularly difficult! i did enjoy the challenge of wrapping my head around the concepts but i definitely need to get my fundamentals right - so many times i was guessing what to input!
another rock to surmount is i think my inability to yet fully visualise what i am doing with the data before the final step (due to my weak basics i must imagine).
on a brighter note, having cleared all the fundamentals (definitely still need practice though) - i am now free to play around! there’s ProjectEuler.Net and Hackerrank for practice problems - exciting times ahead!!!

on a separate note, it’s but just slightly over a month since i began this, i do think i have had a fairly good start (never would have imagined i would have covered so much in just a month) but there is still a long road ahead! i cannot even begin to imagine how things will be like after 3 months of the crash course! #exciteds
