Today was the day of the seminar. It went over really well and everybody who attended and we spoke to said that it was really well put on and informative. The experience was very exciting for me and I learned a lot. I had to give an address at the beginning of the seminar and I organized everybody for the rest of the day. There will be pictures of the event to come.

9/10 - 10/30
During these two months, the preparation for the seminar increased drastically, as it was to be held on the 31st of October. Often there were multiple meetings a week that lasted for several hours and skype meetings after that with individual members of the committee. Especially in the week before the conference, I was spending multiple hours every night preparing, doing things like organizing the volunteers from MUN and the speakers, preparing for room placements, creating schedules and brochures, and emailing everybody involved to make sure that the seminar would be successful.

8/18 - 9/8
We have had three meetings since the last time I blogged and multiple newsletters. We have accomplished a lot in this time, including confirming all of our speakers and we're starting to get attendees. We will be going on a radio show within the next month, too. We have been working to get out website operational so that we can more easily mass-distribute information and updates.

7/24 - 8/17 In the interest of productivity I have not been on this site and therefore have not been able to blog my hours. Since my last update, there have been one actual meeting, two extra ones, many letters and emails, and three newsletters. We secured three speakers to fill two speaker slots: R. J. Larizza and Ms. Clowe and Made by Survivors.. The normal meeting took two hours. One of the extra ones was to ensure the two latter speakers' participation and they gave us many new ideas. It lasted around two hours. The other extra meeting took place today and was to fix the major issues we have been having with out website. It also took two hours. I estimate that I spent four hours organizing things through composing newsletters and phone calls and emails.

7/21
Between last night and today I have edited the speaker invitation letters. We wrote letters to Pam Bondi. R. J. Larizza, The Defender Foundation, and Mr. Pillay. The committee also met today and discussed final changes to these letters and more on the structure of the committee in general. For planning purposes, we have assigned one of our members to be the committee's PR person. They will also have management of the website. Miller has planned for a meeting with Dr. Carmichael Tuesday to discuss the project.

We had a meeting with Officer Samson again and he gave us the contact information of a lot of possible speakers with a good indication that one of them will be a speaker. The first invitation letters go out Monday. Another newsletter went out, as well which begun the process of assigning people to more specified jobs within the committee to make it run more effectively.

6/29 - 7/11
I went to a skype meeting and a 1.5 hour meeting with the adviser. I made 2 newsletters since the last log. Work was done on the website. It's a tumblr and I think if I can get it off the ground, it should work well for the committee. I have also contacted a potential new member and I hope we can make the committee timings to fit with her schedule so that we can have a new member.
