I haven’t posted about commissions for wood burning art in a bit because I’ve been busy, but I want to remind people that commissions are open, and if you want Christmas presents it’s time to start ordering!

According to USPS I need to ship by 12/15 to get it to you by Christmas, preferably earlier if you want time to wrap it or if you’re traveling!

That means that if you want a piece for Christmas, you need to order and pay before December 8th.

When you submit the order form, I get a notification and then I respond with the final price, including shipping, based on any extras you include. At that time I’ll also give you the link to pay, and you can either pay all up front or half up front and half when the item is ready to ship (I’ll let you know and send you a photo).

This was one of my first pieces, and the one that had people saying “do you take commissions?”

Name and date redacted for privacy. This was a piece I made for my godson’s baptism. This can easily be adapted as a gift for a birth or a confirmation!

Of course I have the right to refuse any design, but I will always tell you that up front and you’re free to go to another artist if I can’t do what you’re looking for. And if you have an idea that’s not on the form above, message me and I’ll see what I can do!

Turning Off Anonymous Asks

Hey y’all!

I am officially notifying everyone that I’m about to turn off anonymous asks on my blog. Some of y’all have suggested this before, and I said I was leaving them on for people who didn’t feel comfortable asking for advice/help/etc with their name attached.

If you want me to answer your ask privately, simply put “please answer privately” at the beginning of your ask.

That’s it. I will not publicly publish any ask that has those three magic words at the beginning. That goes for asking for pregnancy help, for advice, if you want to express support for the blog without outing yourself as a pro-lifer or conservative, or any other reason. 

ALSO! You can direct message me any time, and that is private by default. 

And of course, if you’re someone who doesn’t like me/my blog and you want to send hate, you are still free to do so. You just need to do it with your name attached.

A Quick Note About Me & My Blog

I’ve had a few interactions and messages lately that made me feel like I needed to put this out there.

This blog is not my full time job. I make no money off it. I do it for a few reasons:

- It’s fun (most of the time)

- I learn things

- I’ve had opportunities to provide support for women in crisis pregnancies, and more than one person has told me they chose life for their baby because of my blog. This one alone makes all of it worth it. 

In order for this blog to be sustainable, I have a few policies:

1. I post what I want.

2. If you get knee-deep in an argument that has gone totally off the rails, especially if you’re name-calling, and you tag me to come save you, the MOST I will do is go back to the original post and start my own conversation with them. 

3. I reserve the right not to continue an argument that isn’t going anywhere or is going in circles.

4. Reblogging something doesn’t mean I agree with the original poster or the person I reblogged it from on EVERY SINGLE issue they’ve EVER talked about. Because that’s ridiculous and impossible. I value the fact that I follow a lot of different people, many of whom I disagree with on most things. I don’t want to be in an echo chamber. I also value finding common ground with people who I otherwise disagree with - it’s the only way to make positive change!

5. I reserve the right to log off tumblr for a while and do other things. That means I may not see your post or message right away, or at all, depending on how much other activity I’m getting at the time. It doesn’t mean I’m ignoring you.

6. Asks/messages that require a detailed response with lots of research/sources take longer for me to answer. That means I may prioritize quick/easy responses, and your message may get buried for a while until I’m ready to sit down and do the research. Again, this isn’t my full time job, I do have other things going on in my life. 

7. Please read my FAQ before sending an ask. I get a lot of the same questions/comments over and over. You can learn a lot about me just by clicking that link!

8. If you send abusive/threatening/overly vulgar messages, I will block you. Otherwise, I don’t generally block people, because again I don’t want an echo chamber. 

9. PLEASE include context in your ask/message, ESPECIALLY if you’re asking anonymously. Tell me what post you’re talking about. Tell me the url of the person you’re talking about. Give me NAMES. DETAILS. In fact, you can actually send links in an ask, here’s how:

It’s that simple. Just put spaces and brackets around the dot. I can then copy and paste the url, take out the spaces and brackets, and voila! I can see what you’re talking about! 

10. You may disagree with me on things. In fact, I think even most of my hardcore, long time followers disagree with me on at least a few major issues. That’s okay. We can still have things in common. We can still agree on other things. It’s called being an adult.
