Prom 2014
It was my senior prom. My boyfriend and I were at the Melting Pot with two other couples (his friends. I had just recently told him that I was bisexual and I first he was okay. At this dinner SOMEHOW that's brought up and he pressured me into telling everyone at the dinner that I'm bi. What I should have done: Stand up and walk out. Let him know that I chose who I want to tell and when I want to tell them. What I did: Succumb and let them look at me like I'd done something wrong. Ruin my last prom because I let some immature asshat tell me who to tell my business to. To some people, this may seem like no big deal, but to me it was. I wasn't ready to tell many people. I gave him information I wanted him to keep between us and he forced me to tell his friends. I know what you're thinking "how can someone force you to say something?" Well because if I didn't say it he would tell them himself. If I didn't say it he would talk about how I was "hiding it." I gave into his bullshit because I didn't want to hear the crap afterward, but I could have just walked away and been done with it. MORAL: Don't take someone else's shit. If you don't want to tell others your business don't. Remove yourself from the situation completely. I wish I would have.
