Just say yes, by Snow Patrol
Thank you @silvanshadow for this prompt and as always thanks to @galladrabbles for hosting .
For some reason my mind went season 11.
Just say yes
Ian flicked a camo jacket at Mickey. “We’ll look more professional. Just say yes.”
Mickey scoffed, arms crossed and a sneer complete with arched brows.. “What is this? Army dress-up for protecting fucking stoner money?”
Ian flashed puppy eyes. “Security needs uniform.”
Mickey rubbed his eye , “ Next you’ll have me saluting Vee.”
Ian grinned, eyes widened. “Come on. Just say yes.”
Mickey glared, jaw tensing. Thirty seconds of internal war. Then: “Fine.” He grabbed the jacket. “Just so you know, if anyone calls me Private Milkovich, I’m declaring war.”
Ian laughed, flicking fake salute. “Mission accomplished.”
Mickey sighed, nodded. “Alright, fucking can’t say no to you Army.”

Prompt #197: "Fudged Results" by Rawtooth
Author’s Note: The misadventures of Mayor Mare continue…
~~~
Everypony was gathered in the town square of Ponyville, happily chatting with one another, eager to hear the results of the first ever Ponyville Fudge Baking Contest! The crowd’s general hub-hub died down as Mayor Mare took to her podium, the grey-maned pony clearing her throat once before speaking, her practiced voice caring easily over the distance.
“Citizens of Ponyville, welcome to our first annual Ponyville Fudge Baking Contest!”
A general outcry of enthusiastic shouts and hoof-stomping sounded across the square. Mare allowed it continue for a bit, before raising a hoof up to silence her constituents.
“I am just excited about the results as each of you, and so, without further ado, may I present the winners!”
At this she gestured towards a broad table, groaning under the weight of the combined mass of steaming hot fudge covering its surface. Each team stood proudly near their creation, an eclectic mix of Ponyville’s citizenry. Turning back to her podium, Mayor Mare began reading from her notes, giving each team time to respond before moving away from the table.
“Team Applepie was found to have the best tasting fudge by far, but due to unsanitary health practices, they have been disqualified.”
Prompt #197: "The Sweetest Prize" by Silvernis
The Cakes were, as usual, the crowd favorites. They had won the Ponyville Bake-Off six years running, and if the not-very-subtle hints their assistant had been dropping were to be believed, they were cooking up something “extra super-duper incrediliciously amazing” that would surely bag them yet another blue ribbon.
Bon Bon was, as usual, prepared to go down fighting. Everypony knew that she was a much better confectioner than baker, but that never stopped her from making a valiant, albeit futile effort. (It helped that the mayor was unapologetically partial to her caramel cookies.)
The Apples were, as usual, sticking with their established strategy: apple overload. As Granny Smith would declaim to anypony in range, the small mountain of pies, tarts, and dumplings her family always showed up with might not be city-slickin’ fancy, but ya could practically taste the honest care baked in ’em.
The Crusaders were, as usual, trying their hooves at something that would almost assuredly reveal their cutie marks. (Or not.) The going rumor was that Rarity had drawn the short straw and had surrendered her kitchen to the fillies. She seemed to have developed a peculiar habit of insisting that she’d been planning to remodel the place anyway.
Colgate was, as usual, prepping her office for the post-bake-off rush. Every year, she warned everypony not to overdo things at that dreadful sugar-fest (or to at least brush, for Celestia’s sake), and every year, nopony listened. Two weeks after the bake-off, her waiting room would inevitably be packed with miserable cavity cases—and her cash box would inevitably be packed with bits.
Commentary from Donny's Boy
Ha! I love the use of repetition in structure to go down the line of contestants and all the little details here--the quote from Pinkie, Bon Bon's fighting spirit, Rarity's professed plans to remodel her house. But the best part, hands down, is the last paragraph. I'd never have imagined Colgate as the true winner of the Ponyville bake-off. That's brilliant and hilarious.
