Hey, it’s Kelly! I’ve finally decided that I’m going to document my experiences going into freshman year of college and see where life takes me. This studyblr, as well as my Instagram, and Youtube are part of a bigger pet project that are essentially over-glorified journal entries! And you’re free to tune in :))
Quick Facts:
18, Aries, ESTJ, Bisexual
Chinese-American, I speak Cantonese and I have learned Mandarin though my speaking skills definitely need work
I wouldn’t call myself a polyglot but I like to be able to speak different languages and I’ve learn Russian for 3 years :D
I’m honored to be part of Cornell University’s incoming freshman class of 2024!
Can’t decide if I want to major in biopsychology or study cognitive science. I initially wanted to double major in psychology and linguistics but I’ve realized that it would be hard to.
Possible careers: psych professor, speech therapist, researcher, teacher, psychologist
my tag is #prooductivity
My youtube is in the works, but I’ll get there eventually!
As for hobbies, I’ve taken up embroidery over quarantine as well as self-studying Korean, because, why not? I’ve also watched anime ever since I was a little kid. (My first animes were Inuyasha in English dub - oof - and the Studio Ghibli movies but in Cantonese dub!) I’ve finally gotten around to reliving Haikyuu, so if you see me crying over fictional volleyball boys it’s because they are just a pure source of serotonin!
As for goals for this studyblr, my intention is to have both all of us learn this:
Perfection is overrated! No one is perfect! Life is messy! Do it. Who cares if anyone sees your mistakes, your flaws, your quirks? They’re what make you you.
I also want to try out the different challenges like the summer study challenge from @myhoneststudyblr and the 100 days of productivity challenge :))
So naturally, expect some raw content. Some pretty pictures, some chaotic desk pictures, advice, rants.
Btw! Also check me out on:

Stuff is starting to really get busy... I have a capstone project, writing assignments from IYNA, a followup with my teacher on my AP score appeal, a practice test to finish writing as well as Cornell clerical work to get through. I even deleted TikTok because the procrastination was getting too much!!! 😅
22nd July - What is your dream vacation?
getting to stay at home with my loved ones and my friends :)
This is part of the summer study challenge from @myhoneststudyblr
14th July - Have your plans changed at all because of the pandemic?
Because of the pandemic, my plans and the logistics of my stay at Cornell are vague. I'm not sure when pre-enrollment begins, when dorm assignments come out, etc. A lot of things are stuck in processing. Though I did find a roommate and we still chat!
Conversely, I've found a lot of time to pursue all the hobbies I ever wanted to do. I had a brief moment where I wanted to abandon bullet journaling altogether, but then in beginning of July, I realized that I actually really missed it. I've also dabbled in embroidery, and most of my free time is spent practicing with my tarot deck and researching on the side. (If you're curious, I have the classic Rider-Waite Tarot deck!)
I've also spent more of my time for resume builders like online volunteer opportunities and positions.
As embarrassing as it is to admit, I don't really know how to cook. But I made my very own avocado toast with sunny side eggs the other day, so I think I'm heading in the right direction? If you have beginner cooking recipes I can try out, don't hesitate to enlighten me :))

I’ve finally gotten around to working on my capstone project. I’m probably going to be writing about bilingualism and its effect on the prefrontal cortex and cognitive function!
things left to do:
get the topic approved by TA
write up classics application
full moon meditation and intention setting
Featuring the math section of a test I’m writing for the tutoring place I’m working at!
19th July - What did you do during the summer when you were a young child?
used to hang out with my parents as an only child
most of the time went to summer school/extra prep for the upcoming school year
watched a lot of anime and stayed home to stay out of the sun
20th July - Do you usually go on vacation during the summer?
not really!
21st July - What is the best vacation you have ever been on? (note: does not have to have been during summer)
road trips to cool places in New Jersey, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania... watching other people's lives pass by was interesting to say the least
July 13th - What are your plans for this summer?
peep the bokuto “do it for him meme” because please he is most precious
I have a lot of plans that ended up compounding on top of one another. Here are some to list a few:
I'm starting my very own studyblr, studygram, and a Youtube Channel! Which means I;m learning how to edit pictures and videos... the whole shbang
I'm enrolled in an international neuroscience course provided by the IYNA, the International Youth Neuroscience Association. You can check them out here: https://youthneuro.org/ I'm also a MYELIN Content Creator so I'm part of a team responsible for writing material for a free neuroscience curriculum. More on this later!
My boss asked me if I can start writing making sample questions for his tutoring place. And I also will probably have to tutor some students virtually.
In the meantime, I'm getting ready for a completely new chapter of my life: college life at Cornell University. I'm moving on campus in late August, not to mention figuring out the classes I want to take, what I want to major in... Quarantine has really given me time to deliberate my life choices...
Also I’ve decided to write all my journal entries in Chinese starting today!
This is the first day of the summer studying challenge from @myhoneststudyblr
I went to a metaphysical shop for the first time and bought 2 crystals (selenite and opalite) that I was instantly drawn to when I went into the shop! I also tried timeboxing yesterday to give more (and very necessary) structure into my routine that I can actually start getting my work done. The brown paper came from the bag that the crystals were in!
24th July - What is your favorite vacation memory?
that feeling when you finally come home and you think to yourself "home sweet home"
25th July - What was is your favourite event or day in the summer? Are you a ‘summer person’ or do you prefer it when it is colder?
I like when the weather is a little colder, like during the fall time where it's cool but not cold. As for my favorite day in the summer it's the last day of school :)
26th July - What is your typical daily routine in the summer?
It depends, I usually have a similat schedule as school in terms of waking up early and going to work, and then coming home to eat and relax. This year bc of corona my schedule has kind of gone out of whack. I just do anything whenever I feel like it.
27th July - Do you stay indoors or outdoors more in the summer?
I stay as much as I can indoors. It's too hot in the summer to go out most of the time.
28th July - How do you stay motivated to study during the summer?
A lot of it is setting deadlines for myself and using a reward system. "If I can get this done, then I'll binge watch the next season of this show"
29th July - Have you done or are you planning to do any activities (such as work experience, summer schools or watching lectures) other than normal work during the summer?
I've mentioned this already but I'm currently writing my CAPSTONE project for a neuroscience course! Very exciting, lots of work but I think it'll be worth it.
30th July - Beach or Swimming pool?
neither I can't swim!
