absolutely delighted and kind of emotional to learn that prop joe’s actor (robert chew) was a children’s acting teacher in baltimore and he worked really closely with then four main boys during and after their auditions all throughout season four

Prop Joe is the smartest man in Bmore but I still feel Bubs is the smartest civilian. Part of how he got where he was is not seeing the mechanisms of the game ready to ride over him the way that Joe, one of its drivers, saw so clearly that he didn’t even have to think about Bubs

Every time I read or see an interview where bill hader talks about a scene he wrote just so sarah goldberg can show off how good an actor she is I am reminded of one of my favorite scenes from The Wire written with a similar idea
