Just in case anyone doesn't know, this is John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd playing the characters of Jake and Elwood Blues on "Saturday Night Live." BUT.

The band playing behind them? Includes a bunch of the original Stax session musicians, aka the guys who actually played on the original "Soul Man" recording by Sam & Dave and dozens of other legendary performers. The guitarist, Steve Cropper, is the guy they mean when they say "Play it Steve" in the original version.

The bass guitarist, Donald "Duck" Dunn was a founder of Booker T & the MGs. Willie Hall, the drummer, worked with Issac Hayes.

These guys played with everyone. Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart, Bonnie Raitt. They're legends.
