PSA: Giving Artist PROPER Credit
No don’t just say “credit to the artist” you gotta state which artist and link their social media. It’s not that hard. You can ask them nicely if you could use their art for your fic or your banner. It’s not that hard to ask. If they don’t reply, DO NOT USE their art. If they say no, DO NOT USE their art, NO MEANS NO.
We worked our asses off drawing that and having this internal struggle of “this looks fucking ugly” to “mmm still looks kinda bad but I gotta move on”. We poured all of our time making that art for ourselves, some artists do it for their audience, BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO ASK THEIR PERMISSION.
If you are an individual who writes stories and would like to include artists’ artwork in your fic, ASK PERMISSION. If they say no, you can do something else about it, a moodboard, some show still edits and use that instead and then include a disclaimer of course. NO MEANS NO. If they give you permission, STILL GIVE PROPER CREDIT.
Also just because you saw this on Pinterest or Google Images or whatever doesn’t mean it’s up for grabs, you bum. Do a reverse image search, use Google Images to reverse image search, or Yandex, there are a lot of reverse image search engines/websites you can use to find the original poster. If you can’t find them, DO NOT USE the art ͡°__ʖ ͡°).
