Chronicles of a Cyber Stalker-1
Celebrity Worship Syndrome is something I’ve had great concerns about in American culture for years. The tabloids at grocer checkout isles has always made me feel uncomfortable. Does anyone really care about the personal lives of people whose careers are in the public eye? Why does the public feel it’s their right to pry into every minor detail and criticize it? I very strongly believe that celebrity worship culture has given both celebrities and those they are worshiped by a false sense of value in self.
So anyways, one day I came across an Instagram post of the Property Brother, Jonathan Scott. He had recently been pictured with a group of friends having fun at a concert, and one fan assumed one of the women in the group was his new girlfriend. I’ve noticed that famous men can’t have any women in their vicinity without worshipers assuming it’s his new love. By contrast, women in the public eye can’t gain a pound without the public assuming they’re pregnant. It’s strange and a part of American culture I will never understand.
In this Instagram post, a fan congratulated him on his new girlfriend and tagged her. Seemingly innocuous, but altogether rude, and creating unnecessary drama from his female fans. That’s when Bernadette Giacomazzo made a comment about how it was rude to assume a woman is sleeping with a man just because they were seen together. A comment that garnered her support, new followers, and ultimately resulted in Jonathan Scott blocking the fan that tagged this alleged girlfriend and thus deleting Bernadette’s comment beneath her and all those that followed. Looking back, that’s alsothe moment I joined a long list of victims that Bernadette has catfished, lied to, bullied, threatened, harassed, stalked and publicly slandered over her obsessions of celebrities she pretends to protect. In recent years, her target has been Jonathan Scott
“Be careful who you connect with online. There’s a lot of crazy people out there,” the exact words of a Nashua County Police Officer who laughed with me over Bernadette’s “bogus” report against me. I posted something online that she didn’t like and “she’s just being petty,” he told me. Hindsight being what it is, I wish I had seen the warning signs of a mentally unstable person in the first message Bernadette sent to me in direct message on Instagram. Her own authorities delicately explained that when a mentally deranged person demands to have a case report over something in their imagination, they will give them a number to help them feel safe. “But, there’s no case and no investigation. There’s nothing to investigate. We can’t do anything unless there’s an actual threat involved,” he explained.
And here we are, about a year and 2 months after her comment that lead me to believe I had met a like minded person who also had concerns about celebrity worship and how it negatively impacts both the public and public figure. Boy was I mistaken.
After finding and reaching out to other victims of Bernadette Giacomazzo, talking to one of Jonathan Scott’s employees, company attorney and a family member as well as reading stories that other victims have posted online, I’m speaking out against my abuser, against cyber stalking and harassment, and the culture of celebrity worship that has given BG (as she’s known by her victims) a career writing gossip articles and blogs that only feed into and fuel the unhealthy fandoms she claims to be against.
If you really don’t like toxic celebrity worship BG, get a real journalist job. One that doesn’t involve you using a press badge as a means of stalking your target so you can gush over him in gossip articles as a means of getting his attention and affection.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t think this book would come in handy quite so soon in my life. But here we are, day three of renovations and I’m devouring ‘Dream Home’ by The Property Brothers.
every single home renovation show ever:
couple: “we have $19.72 to spend, but we want to be in the best neighborhood in town, right around some mini mansions, and we MUST have four bedrooms, two offices, an open-concept kitchen a playroom, a teen hangout space, a workout space, and a room dedicated to filming online makeup tutorials, which is my full-time job”
show host/designer: “we found one that’s literally falling apart, like it barely has a roof; it’s a one-bedroom, 1/2 bath with no kitchen, and the backyard is two feet wide and overlooks a cliff for the kids...but i see so much potential, we can just tear down this wall right here and you’ll have your dream home”
couple: “lets do it”
show host/designer: “so we left some stuff out in the rain and it’s all destroyed, we need $10,000 extra”
couple: ...
show host/designer: “but we put in some hardwood floors and painted the bathroom, plus here’s a fireplace”
couple: “ohmygod I love it”
