The sun shone down on the back of Diego’s neck as he held his palm out, eyes closed as he concentrated. It was his job to create a tangled mess that the other team would get lost in. In reality, Diego was pretty sure the team captians just gave him this job to get him out of the way, but damn it if he wasn’t going to do a hell of a job. He latched onto the tiny part of his mind that connected to the roots in the ground, pulling them up and forcing them to sprout. As the tiny vine danced forth from the ground, a bead of sweat glided down Diego’s forehead as the effort to concentrate increased. He used to be able to grow strawberry vines without a second thought, but ever since Jordy died…there was a lot Diego could no longer do. Diego growled in frustration and shook his hand around as if it were cramping up. “Come on…come on…” He murmured, not even realizing someone was standing behind him…watching

“Ugh, one camp event and everyone thinks it’s okay to just trample on any plant they encounter.” Everyone had already gone to whatever place they had been assigned to, leaving Rose at the edge of the woods. She kneeled down in her shitty armor, having already taken off her stupid red helmet, reaching for the nearest wilting flower. “I’m so sorry, you poor thing. You didn’t deserve this, I’m so sorry.”

Where: Blue Team Territory, The Woods
Sandra held her sword before her with trembling hands, letting go with one for only a moment to push her helmet back into place. The Ares camper was circling her, teasing her for her poor technique, which Sandra found to be pretty rude considering she hadn’t had so much as a full week of training under her belt. She hardly had her stance perfected and knew close to two maneuvers, which were very far from polished. She’d been stationed deep into Blue territory for this particular reason, and still the Ares camper had found her and managed to corner her.
“Please- don’t” She begged, huffing under the weight of the heavy armor strapped to her torso, blood dripped down her exposed arm from where he’d cut her already. “I- I need a healer.” She whimpered, not looking at the injury lest it make her dizzy. Catching another flash of red over his shoulder, Sandra stiffened before her shoulders slumped in relief. “Matt” she practically cried, comforted by his presence for only a moment before realizing that he might not be the help she wished for considering he was on the other team. Fear bubbled up in her chest anew as she reminded herself that she was very clearly outmatched against two seasoned campers, and on this second thought, Sandra raised her sword a bit higher. “Please- don’t” she begged again, though this time she directed her plea toward Matt.

Matt may have hated his legacy as a son of Ares, but his competitive side always got the best of him during these games. He was always careful not to hurt anybody too bad, but just like most of his siblings, he was in the thick of things. Already he had taken down several campers and at that moment he was alone. Hearing a rustling from behind he quickly turned, raising his rapier high.
Hello campers and welcome to the first Prophecy Preceding Event: Capture the Flag! The event will begin Saturday, July 20th at 12:00am EST and will end Sunday, July 28th at 11:59pm EST. This effectively gives you over a week to participate in order to accommodate our writers’ varying schedules as activity will be key and we want to give everyone a chance to participate!
Since Capture the Flag is a favorite game amongst our characters, we wanted to make this a fun and competitive experience for our writers as well! The rules for the game will be listed below and have been posted in advance so that our writers can ask questions and be sure they understand the rules before we get started this weekend!
We will be dividing the group into two teams, Red Team and Blue Team. These teams will be announced at the start of the event, and will be determined by the admins without input from the writers.
The goal of the game is to earn as many points as you can for your team over the course of the event and the way to earn points is as follows:
Please tag all posts for the Capture the Flag Event using the hashtag ProphecyEvent001 along with ProphecyRed or ProphecyBlue to let the rest of camp know which team you are earning points for.
Starters and replies posted specifically for this event will be worth 1 point. This means you cannot tag your old/existing threads with event hashtags for points- don’t do it, it won’t count.
Drabbles over 500 words will be worth 2 points, and anything over 1000 words will be worth 5 points. Please include a word count at the end of your drabble or in the tags!
Original edits and mood boards are worth 3 points.
Playlists over 10 songs are worth 3 points, over 20 songs will be worth 5 points.
If you know you will not be around for the event and have not told us yet, please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. We will have something worked out to include you if you are able to get on at all.
There will be an update for the event posted mid-way on Wednesday, July 24th at 5pm EST in order to keep activity high during the event and keep things interesting!!
