“Hey! Welcome to camp!”
Who: Rose Wilson + Anyone When: Whenever Capture the Flag is Where: Right at the edge of the woods.
“Ugh, one camp event and everyone thinks it’s okay to just trample on any plant they encounter.” Everyone had already gone to whatever place they had been assigned to, leaving Rose at the edge of the woods. She kneeled down in her shitty armor, having already taken off her stupid red helmet, reaching for the nearest wilting flower. “I’m so sorry, you poor thing. You didn’t deserve this, I’m so sorry.”
Who: Charley Montgomery + Anyone When: Friday, June 11th 1976 Where: Dock of the lake
Charley let her head hang back, feeling her hair fall down her shoulder blades. The mid afternoon sun shone down as her feet splashed around in the cool water of the lake. It was a gorgeous day and she could hear the sounds of two teams coming in from the woods, bitter and battered from a rousing game of capture the flag. “Shoot!” Charley grabbed her shoes, stuffing her feet into them as she tried to gather her Blue Team armor to make it seem like she had been playing this whole time. “Shh!” Charley shushed the curious hippocampus that had come up from the depths to keep her company. “Not a word, got it? See you later, Ariel.” Charley blew a kiss to her aqua equine friend before jogging off to the edge of the wood, pulling her helmet over her long brown hair as she attempted to blend in. “What happened? I’ve totally been here the whole time!”
Who: Adara Davis & Anyone When: June 8th, 1976 - mid morning Where: The Forges
Adara pulled her hair back, tying it off of her neck and wiping her forehead with the back of her hand. She’d forgotten the intensity of the heat inside of the forges and gods- had she missed this. The sound of her siblings tinkering away on all sorts of projects, from the sawing of wood to the pounding of metal against metal, to the crinkling of drafts of blueprints tossed into the recycle bin. Adara’s fingers itched for a project of her own and she turned eagerly at the sound of footsteps in the door way. “Only the second day of camp and you’ve already managed to wreck something?” She asked, unable to make her tone anything but hopeful.
“I know they got us there in that last half, but you gotta admit, we were doing pretty good for ourselves in the beginning.” Not that Marcus was a particularly good fighter themselves. But part of being a cabin counselor was making sure the rest of the cabin felt good, whether they won or lost. And hell, they’d pass around those good vibes to the rest of the camp too.
Who: Sandra Jones & Matthew Murtaugh When: Capture the Flag Where: Blue Team Territory, The Woods
Sandra held her sword before her with trembling hands, letting go with one for only a moment to push her helmet back into place. The Ares camper was circling her, teasing her for her poor technique, which Sandra found to be pretty rude considering she hadn’t had so much as a full week of training under her belt. She hardly had her stance perfected and knew close to two maneuvers, which were very far from polished. She’d been stationed deep into Blue territory for this particular reason, and still the Ares camper had found her and managed to corner her.
“Please- don’t” She begged, huffing under the weight of the heavy armor strapped to her torso, blood dripped down her exposed arm from where he’d cut her already. “I- I need a healer.” She whimpered, not looking at the injury lest it make her dizzy. Catching another flash of red over his shoulder, Sandra stiffened before her shoulders slumped in relief. “Matt” she practically cried, comforted by his presence for only a moment before realizing that he might not be the help she wished for considering he was on the other team. Fear bubbled up in her chest anew as she reminded herself that she was very clearly outmatched against two seasoned campers, and on this second thought, Sandra raised her sword a bit higher. “Please- don’t” she begged again, though this time she directed her plea toward Matt.

Date: Monday, June 7th 1976 Where: Armory
Swords, daggers, shields... the armory pretty much had it all. Being surrounded by so many weapons should have made him more nervous than it did. Instead he felt more at peace. His fingers moved lightly over the celestial bronze of one of the blades, his mind going back to the previous years he’d spent here. Hearing a noise at the door, he felt himself startled out of his thoughts. Quickly, he turned around, knocking down multiple swords along the way. “Shi- Hi, sorry, I didn’t- Shit, sorry.”
Who: Taylor Johnson & Anyone
When: Monday, June 14th
Where: The Arts & Crafts Center
The inside of the arts and crafts center currently looked like a Unicorn had exploded. Or rather, like a bunch of toddlers had been let loose and told to make a mess. Though the current mess had been made by one of the oldest campers there. It was a weekly occurrence that drove the Athena campers crazy. Usually they did a pretty good job in cleaning up after themselves, though glitter could always be found afterwards. “I have no idea what happened. It was like this when I got here.” They said automatically when they heard the door open.
