The last comment is the best 😂
What's funny is that I misread that really good Specter/Skadi piece as "Let's kiss them (Obvious Murderous Intent)" and it felt perfectly natural. Skadi's "Uh" took the delightful uncertainty of whether she was more put off by the murder part or the kiss part.
Ah ha ha! Oh my gosh, that works just as well! I'm sure for non Abyssals, kisses from Specter and Skadi with their little pointy teeth end up looking like that classic shot in horror movies when a shark is involved and the water just goes red.
(But let's not forget the tremendous damage the Jaws films did to shark conservation and the shark expert they consulted on the film asked them not to demonize sharks and Steven Spielberg said they wouldn't be and the shark population has since been decimated! Cows and dogs kill way more people a year than sharks!)

Hey but really. Sharks are friends. Protect them. Don’t eat Shark Fin Soup.
Okay, hi, so I have a pathological fear of the ocean, but not because of sharks or other deadly marine life. Mostly because we haven't discovered all of it. Around 5%ish I believe. And so I'm watching this documentary about shark culling called Envoy: Shark Cull in which conservationists and marine biologist and actual victims of shark attacks argue why shark culling is straight up DUMB AS FUCK and I have to agree.
I hate the ocean, but I recognise and respect the fact that the ocean is the shark species' home. And humans invade it daily. Sharks are intelligent as fuck, but also kinda blind??? And see a human flailing about in the sea and think "omg seal yummy" and have a chomp.
So I did some research, and in 2021 there were 80 confirmed non-fatal shark attacks. 6 were fatal, if the article I read is to be believed.
Get this!!!!
Do u know how many domestic pet dogs attacked people in Australia in 2021 alone??
661
Six hundred and sixty-one people were attacked by pet dogs :)))
80 people were bitten by sharks, and yet the Queensland and New South Wales government insist on keeping nets and drumlines in Australian beaches for "protection" when the nets and drumlines DONT PROTECT SHIT AND SHARKS CAN SWIM UNDER THEM AND AROUND THEM and they're actually dangerous to people, turtles, dolphins, sting rays, whales, and other animals, too. And the governments won't allow any animals caught to be released from the nets because it's "dangerous" like YES THESE ANIMALS ARE DYING!!!!!!!
In 1992 in Australia a little boy DROWNED because of one of the nets and it was classed a "tragic accident" when the net had been washed in too close to the beach for 2 WEEKS and the government did nothing about it.
I. Am. Furious.
I also think I love sharks now they're actually so beautiful and I cried watching this fucking documentary 😢
