“If it’s bad news then I don’t want to hear it. Kindly piss off.”
The town was small, quaint. Maybe it was a little too cookie-cutter for Zane’s opinion. But it was different from his normal ramblin’ man life. And it would be easy to hide out here from the numerous enemies he’d made over time. A certain vampire he knew right now would love to sink their teeth into him. Looking out over the view, Zane gave a small sigh and reached in his pocket for his pack of cigarettes. Lighting one up, he gave a long pull, letting it calm him a bit before he exhaled a sheet of smoke. “Guess I’m in Mayberry.”
The best place for stargazing was at the top of the highest hill. So that’s where she’d driven, parking her car as high up as it would go before she climbed to the top. The trees thinned out and there was a nice grassy patch where she laid down her blanket, plopping down and turning on some music on her phone, just letting it and the sky lull her into calm.
“I found him wandering the woods. I think he likes me.”
Though she loves her family dearly sometimes Juliet can’t help but wonder if she was in fact adopted, if it wasn’t for the banshee gene she’d be certain of it. She did not posses the amount of generosity that the entire Prattes family seemed to have in abundance, by the time she came around as the youngest of the bunch they must have ran out. And so here she is grumbling and cursing, mostly under her breath, as she attempts to shove the latest donations for the safe house into her little car for the third time. Each time it all falls out Juliet gets worked up more and more, and so when she feels eyes upon her she reacts before her brain can process her words “Eyes at sea level or I pop them out.”
Eyes shifted upward from the stock shelf of the store --- The Acheron was specifically meant to cater to the magic-users of the safe haven, providing them with any needs for their spells ( outside of herbal or floral ) they may have. It’d been one hell of a first week attempting to get everything up and running, especially since the incident at the bonding ceremony. Rider had been obviously short-handed but at least the work kept him honest. The inside of the store was what you’d expect: almost hokey, like any other wicca shop one might come across, save for the relics holding real power in the right hands. When the bell chimed he eyed the door, “Gimme a minute” before continuing on with the last of the stock in his hands.
“As soon as this kind of heat shows up in Britain every single guy is walking around shirtless pretending they look the shit, all we can talk about is the weather but mostly to complain about it, every single pub garden is full to bursting and those who aren’t out drinking will be doing so with a spontaneous BBQ at home. Yeah basically you can tell we don’t get this kind of temperature often, we’re very predictable.”
“I’m trying this new thing called not drinking as much. So far it really sucks.”
