Ghost!Kaeya AU (Exorcist Vs. Ticked Off Big Brother)...
Diluc and Jean brace themselves for the sight that they were going to see as they rode the carriage up to the manor. However, they weren’t prepared for what they saw.
Kaeya was holding up an exorcist by his throat, appearing to be squeezing the life out of the man. The screaming was coming from two young boys, begging Kaeya to put the man down. They didn’t want their friend to become a murderer.
The spirit ignored them, his focus completely on the man who hurt Xingqui.
Diluc calls out to him and Kaeya seems to jolt at his voice before he turns to look at him. Both brothers stare at each other for a moment, seemingly lost in the moment the last time they were outside the manor together. The moment is broken when Kaeya is struck by purple lightning. The ghost drops the man with a tortured scream and convulses before dropping to the ground.
The two boys try to run up to Kaeya, but are stopped by several Electro pillars striking the ground and forming a barrier around the young man. Once again, the exorcist starts to do the incantations to exorcise Kaeya.
And barely dodges out of the way of a claymore trying to cleave him in two.
When he turns to look at the offender, the man is once again struck with a bit of fear. Diluc is practically the incarnate of an angry god, his face twisted into a murderous scowl as his ruby eyes locked onto the man who hurt his brother. The exorcist feels anger rise in him that so many people didn’t want this poor spirit to find peace.
Summoning more Electro to his hands, he demands to know why they kept interrupting him in sending the tortured soul along. Diluc’s face darkens further as his sword becomes engulfed in flames. He was more ready to make self-righteous prick a pile ash. He’s only barely stopped by Jean placing a hand on his shoulder.
Jean tells him that if he does anything to Kaeya, that she can have him arrested for murder. When he demands to know what she’s talking about, they all turn to the sound of the carriage door opening and Barbara and Venti (that’s right, I added Venti - deal with it) helping Kaeya’s comatose body out.
The exorcist pales when Jean tells him that Kaeya was still very much alive and that his soul was still tied to his body. Before he can say anything to defend himself, Diluc rushes forward and uses his still aflame claymore to strike the pillar closest to him, causing an Overload and the pillars disappear.
The boys are quick to rush to their fallen friend’s side, Xingqui crouching next to him as Chongyun puts himself between his friends and the exorcist, summoning his own claymore in case the man still tried to do anything.
The man stammers, trying to come up with a defense, but closes his mouth when Diluc turns back to him, still scowling. He turns to give Jean a look as if he was asking something. The woman gives him a nod and he turns back to the exorcist as he dismisses his weapon. It would be a shame if it ended too quickly.
The manor grounds are filled with screaming once more.
I HAVE GOTTEN HOOKED ON THE GHOST KAEYA CONCEPT. Hope you dont mind me asking but with how Kaeya is friends with Chongyun, Xinqiu and seemingly Xiangling, how would they along with Diluc react to finding out that sometime after Diluc's visit when the place was trashed, another exorcist came in and decided to exorcise the troubled Kaeya so the young man could find peace? Feel like that'll bring in mixed reactions of sadness, anger and understanding
Oh, you read my mind. I was going to type up something like that. This is one way I can think of it happening.
After Chongyun and Xingqui came back to find the place trashed, they both knew that it was a bad idea to leave Kaeya alone. They take an extended vacation so that they can be by the spirit's side in his time of need.
Turns out they made the right choice because one of the potential buyers is furious that some dumb ghost is keeping them from getting a foothold in Mondstadt. They hire an exorcist to get rid of Kaeya so that they can hurry up and move into the manor.
The exorcist is a middle aged man, not bad looking, but also nothing special. When he arrives at the manor, the last thing he was expecting was for two young boys to be the ones to greet him. The one with light blue hair seems to realize who he is first and demands that he leave.
Insulted that a child thinks he can boss him around, he questions why these two foreigners are even here. The dark haired one responds that they are visiting a friend and that they aren't accepting any visitors at this time.
The exorcist is getting more irate and declared that he wasn't leaving until he exorcised the evil spirit here. Chongyun bristles as he says that there are no evil spirits here since his condition would have driven them off before he got close.
Getting fed up with having to explain himself to children, he shoves past the two, knocking down Xingqui and causing him to hurt his leg. It's his yelp and Chongyun's angry raised voice that causes Kaeya to appear.
While startled at first (the ghost didn't look as scary as he was expecting), the exorcist tries to start the exorcism. He doesn't get to finish because Kaeya notices Xingqui, the boy having followed the man inside despite his injured leg.
His resulting anger has him throwing the exorcist out the window. Ignoring the children calling for him, he follows the man outside to finish him off.
The man refuses to back down and summons Electro to his fingertips. He wasn't going to let this spirit suffer any longer.

Diluc and Jean have Kaeya's body in a carriage as they rush towards the manor. Barbara sits inside to keep him from jostling around too much, but the carriage refuses to slow down.
Diluc wishes that he could just teleport to his brother's side. Jean is worried about what will happen when they get there. It isn't until they get closer that they notice that they can hear what sounds like screaming.
With dread filling their stomachs, they wished the horses could go just a little faster.
