Does a flash game from 2005 really need to have such good enemies? Apparently, according to the Brothers Chaps, the answer is “Yes!” Or, whoever designed Protek. The point is that I love Protek.
You might just think that Protek is an electrical socket, and that is probably true. HOWEVER, I have a few counter-arguments!
1. Things with electrical sockets for faces are always wonderful, and Protek has two of them.
2. Inanimate object creatures are always wonderful, in whatever form they take.
3. Protek isn’t just a socket! It also has this long stretchy cord!
I don’t know why this wasn’t included in the sprite, but Protek bounces up and down on this stretchy cord that you have to fire two shots at before the rest of the socket falls down, and it starts firing lightning bolts at you. Both bolts can be dodged with carefully timed jumps, but it can be difficult to dodge them, so it’s important that you be careful!
That being said, for the most part... Proteks aren’t very threatening. They can deal a lot of damage if they’re blocking a path, but most places with Proteks have alternate routes without Proteks, and since the top of their head doesn’t have a hitbox, most of the Proteks in the game can just be dodged completely.
Please. Make it an effort to preserve this wonderful species in your everyday life.
