May 10: “Body Swap AU” (but with a complicated context)
Yeah… I’m gonna have to put off Days 8 and 9 until I can think of something for it 😅 I ended up thinking of something for the Body Swap AU first.
• I watched the movie “Swapped” and loved it. When I saw a few clips before seeing the actual movie though, I interpreted it as a typical body swap movie until I finally saw the pods.
• I thought, “Hey… wouldn’t it be a cool AU concept if the UglyDolls characters could change doll type?” after seeing the movie.
• Also, the “Swap AUs” I’ve seen where the uglies are pretties and vice versa.
• And since prettydolls and uglydolls are technically designed with a specific appeal… they’re all technically a mass produced concept and toy model = a toy body; prettydoll model/body, uglydoll model/body.
• So rather than a regular “body swap” where one character swaps bodies with another character, it’s more of: every character possible could get turned into a different doll model; pretties and uglies could get turned into their opposite’s body type.
• So… basically, it’s a Body Swap AU, utilizing the Swap AU, inspired by the movie “Swapped”.
• Lastly… I now love this, and I will be drawing more of this AU when I have the time.
• For now… I give you some context I created so far:
- Instead of the incinerator, that they for some reason call “recycling” in the movie —The recycling bin really does recycle and it quickly rebuilds you into the last doll you say. And then you start back into the factory main area.
- Lou fell into the recycling bin when checking something in the pipes…. Something something blah blah… He was ranting to himself about something that made him say “uglydoll” and he came out as one after falling into the recycling.
- He woke up on an a conveyor belt, and the next thing he knew he was thrown into a random pipe, and woke up again —in a town. (Uglyville)
This is unrelated to Day 18 btw. I’ll thinking of something else for “First Meeting”. But yes, this is a rewrite of their first meeting with Lou.
