𝑪𝑨𝑼𝑮𝑯𝑻 𝑩𝒀 𝑺𝑼𝑹𝑷𝑹𝑰𝑺𝑬 ,   𝑻𝑯𝑶𝑼𝑮𝑯 𝑻𝑹𝒀𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑵𝑶𝑻 𝑻𝑶 𝑳𝑬𝑻 𝑰𝑻 𝑺𝑯𝑶𝑾   ―   it was few   &   far between that vegeta opened up to him like this   &   considering how easily he could manage to piss him off on a good day goku didn’t really wanna push his luck here too much .

❛   what d’ya mean ?        i’d say you found yourself pretty well here ,   vegeta .   ❜        𝑻𝑯𝑶𝑼𝑮𝑯 𝑻𝑯𝑨𝑻 𝑫𝑰𝑫𝑵'𝑻 𝑴𝑬𝑨𝑵 𝑯𝑬 𝑾𝑶𝑼𝑳𝑫𝑵'𝑻 𝑩𝑬 𝑯𝑰𝑴𝑺𝑬𝑳𝑭   &   that full package entailed one   ―   track mindedness   &   his special brand of simplicity .        ❛   i mean ,   you’ve gotten so much stronger since you joined us !   ❜        𝑪𝑶𝑴𝑬 𝑻𝑶 𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑲 𝑶𝑭 𝑰𝑻 goku didn’t really know much of anything of vegeta’s prior lifestyle ,   although he gathered it wasn’t a very good one .        he’d changed so much since then ,   the prince was practically an entirely different person !

𝑾𝑰𝑻𝑯 𝑨 𝑪𝑶𝑵𝑭𝑰𝑫𝑬𝑵𝑻 𝑺𝑴𝑰𝑳𝑬 𝑮𝑶𝑲𝑼 𝑭𝑰𝑵𝑰𝑺𝑯𝑬𝑫 𝑭𝑰𝑿𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑯𝑰𝑺 𝑮𝑰   &   regained his guarded position ahead of the other saiyan .        ❛   i don’t know what’s got you so down but i sure know who you are ;        hell ,   you never let me forget it !   ❜        𝑨 𝑩𝑼𝑩𝑩𝑳𝒀 𝑳𝑨𝑼𝑮𝑯 ,   𝑭𝑰𝑹𝑬 𝑰𝑵 𝑯𝑰𝑺 𝑬𝒀𝑬𝑺 .        ❛   you’re vegeta ,   proud prince of the saiyans ,   &   currently my training partner   ―   now c’mon !        hit me with everything you’ve got !   ❜

The little thing cowers, arms tucked in close to herself and practically quaking in her tiny boots. It took a heap of courage to even speak up, highly aware of his rather heated temper. Somehow, it turned into an exchange, and before she knew it, she had triggered the steam to rise. Her lips tighten firmly, not wishing to stoke his ire, but it felt wrong to simply stand there and take it. She steels what’s left of her determination and unfurls from her defensive stance. 

❝I just-- I just wanted to help you. I-- I refuse to feel bad for that, and... and your threats aren’t going to make me stop!❞

The confrontation could almost be likened to a stand-off of sorts. Silence reigns for a long moment, and Ninazu’s mouth remains shut, forming a tight line. There’s tension where there oughtn’t be any. Perhaps it was the tone of his voice that made her stand on edge, bordering on a snap of her composure. 

❝And what if I did?❞ Finally, she speaks, uttering what sounds like a challenge. ❝Are you gonna hit me for it?❞

❝The best I’ve--?!❞

That single taunt triggers her anger faster than any hit ever could. Spoken so coldly, so detached -- as if she isn’t even worth his time or effort. He may very well think that way, not that she would have any doubt in that. Yet, that doesn’t smother the rage that’s being stoked. It doesn’t matter that her actual skills are nowhere near up to par with his own. It doesn’t matter that the half of her that is a different alien race isn’t a warrior species. She hates being counted out or tossed aside like she’s nothing. 

❝How about you take me seriously?! I don’t care if you’re stronger, I can outlast you easily!❞

It takes a moment longer than she’d like to recover from his walloping hit. Before now, she had only seen the result of his attacks against others, but experiencing the intended agony is far beyond anything she imagined. Slowly, she ascends from her kneeling position, releasing her cradle of the wound that’s already long gone. 

❝I-- I can handle plenty!❞ A brave claim from someone still trembling from the aftershock. ❝Don’t underestimate me, Vegeta!❞
