I have to say, I followed this blog thinking I'd see some great answers to common nb questions, but I was hugely disappointed and I consider unfollowing. how can you base ones opinion on their race, gender, and/or sexual orientation and have the nerve to call that equality when it is the exact thing our community is trying to end? I swear, this blog is the most discriminatory I've ever followed.
have you heard of false equivalence? Basically it’s a fallacy where you take things that can’t be compared and try to say they are the same. This is what is happening whenever people say that reverse oppression exists. The idea that an oppressed group hating their oppressors and their oppressors hating them is equal is incorrect because one group has power and is using it against the other. The other group does not have that.
Disliking the people who hurt you is a valid reaction, especially in terms of minority discussions because we have body counts, sometimes so high that we don’t even talk about it, and it keeps growing. People venting about their oppression isn’t reverse oppression. People telling their oppressors this that or the other isn’t oppression. It’s speaking out. And neither of those things are necessarily ‘for equality’. Peoples’ experiences and their reactions to those experiences aren’t a political statement. This blog isn’t a political statement. It’s a bunch of nonbinary people sharing resources and their personal experiences with a bunch of other nonbinary people. This blog isn’t for equality, it’s for nonbinary people. We’re not here to tell you who to vote for and what policies politicians should write in. Stop making our existence into a political agenda.
