To celebrate Earth Day, I did my first ever pleinair painting for pleinairpril in watercolor at the Provo River Trail. It is also the first time I've used watercolors since, middle school, maybe?

Literally was on the verge of tears this afternoon when I discovered that my very favorite bit of the #provorivertrail now looks like this. They cut down so many of my beautiful trees that I love so much! I have a horrible feeling that they're putting a road through. Selected images from our walk yesterday. It was that beautiful golden time of day. I love the poisonous green of the pond scum and the glowiness of the backlit leaves. Last two pictures are of the leaves of my favorite trees by the river. I'm obsessed with the color combination and the high contrast from front to back.
