I've been out of the loop the last few days but is it me or are we not being told everything concerning Ichiro. He goes from active player to assisting the GM of the Mariners? Is he hurt? So sitting back and thinking about Ichiro becoming the foreign born player with the most hits in MLB history, I wonder how many hits he'll finish with. Next on the list after passing Hall of Famer Rod Carew (3053) are Hall of Famers Rickey Henderson (3055) and Craig Biggio (3060). Hall of Famer Dave Winfield looms with 3110 hits. The other question I have is this: does Ichiro stay in the NL or does he go back to the AL and get more chances to hit as a DH. Maybe he'll get traded to an AL contender during the trade deadline. Shohei Otani looks good so far in his first start. He's given up three hits including a homer with six Ks and a walk in five innings pitched.
