Back view of Shwin Design's #magilandlilromper bodice with the #hollydresspattern skirt. I added a little piece to the back panel to turn it into a bow. Sewn for this week's #prpsewsarainbow color #green. I used gold fabric scraps for the bodice and a piece of vintage poplin for the skirt. My second completed sew for #kidsclothesweek!! Also drawing color inspiration from #projectrunandplay sews a 🌈 #yellow theme for this week. Made from scraps of a vintage sheet. I used #bsdfelicitydress for the bodice and cut the skirt according to the sheet piece I had remaining... ☔ ❄ On this dreary January 107th, I present you with a dress and shorts combo inspired by orange sorbet, picnics, and summer. Made for this week's #prpsewsarainbow color #orange. 🌈 The dress has a ton of twirl power, so I think that the super cute #stripedswallowdesigns #coachellashorts won't always be hiding behind the gingham tiers. The dress was based on the free #lbgstudio #comfyknitdresstutorial. Since that pattern was designed for knits, I pretty much re-designed the bodice to be suitable for a woven project, I also cut the skirt tiers according to the fabric I had on hand and added a ruffle to squeeze out some extra length. For person not really into the color #orange, I sure do have a lot of orange dominated fabrics in my stash. I'm scratching my head trying to come up with something for this week's #prpsewsarainbow color theme. My rough plan is to sew a dress (or skirt/top combo) for Pen each week. She would appreciate having a "rainbow" of dresses once the #sewalong is done. @projectrunandplay is sewing a 🌈!! This week's sew-a-long color is #red. The red accordion knit satin I had in my stash was the perfect fit for a @lilluxecollection #starlightcitydress for my little dancer. Since the fabric had good 4-way stretch, I had the lines running vertically for the bodice and horizontally for the skirt.
