Ivy was halfway home when the rain began. She continued walking, thinking everything would be fine since it was just a drizzle. When the thunder started, she changed her mind and quickly looked around for a place to hide. When she found a small bus stop nearby, she quickly ran to it. She took off her bag and used it as a makeshift umbrella until she made it safely. She sighed and sat down, suddenly realizing she wasn’t alone.
“O-Oh! I’m sorry! Do you mind if I join you until the rain stops?”
Passing through the streets, it came as no surprise to Jane when the sky opened up above her. Living in Seattle, she knew far more about rainy weather than some. What did come as a surprise, though, was the thunder that accompanied it, making her flinch in shock. Clutching her bag to her chest, she moved back in her seat as far as possible.
Just in time, too, as a soaking figure slid in to the seat beside her. Heart loosening, she gave a shake. “N-not at all,” she said in slightly accented Japanese.
