Second take on Dimi's Arcane-style portrait (again, inspired by the one Galoo did for Buttons!)

I fixed a lot of the things that were bugging me about the first one, and I can say I'm now more happy with it :D.

Still outta my comfort zone, but I started to 'get it' more as I worked on this. It was fun working with old painting brushes I haven't touched in a while. I still like my line art, though! xD

I had a mighty urge to draw Troy and Viper again, and was able to get this drawn and done :D

I also realized this is the first time I've fully colored art of them. In the past, I've done black and white, or grayscale with colored red and green bits as an accent.

Feels good to be kinda back in love with doing full colored pieces.

And with this piece posted, I'm caught up on my art backlog. Yay!

This was out of my comfort zone, and I'm not sure if I pulled it off, but here we are~ Dimi as an Arcane bg character xD

Edit: giving this a second go over as there are tweakable things bugging me about it. So far so good, though!

Is this me making an elf version of Dimi to fit into the Elfquest world? You betcha!

But this case is a little different. As a wee tween/teen, I made versions of some of the elves to fit into my head world at the time, and drew them adventuring with my OCs. So elf!Dimi (aka Viper) is me hitting the Uno Reverse card on myself! lol

Viper is a Wolfrider born in Bearclaw's time, who earned her name from her ability to communicate with the local reptiles; she gravitates towards snakes and forms bonds with the forest 'Fire Fangs', which I've based on the red tailed pit viper (including their impressive color variations!)

She just as scrappy and fiery as Dimi, just condensed into a 4 foot-something package, and chooses to wield two curved daggers due to their appearance to snake fangs. Quickstrike, the teal snake in the first picture, is her current snake friend. I can't decide if Firegold is a past or future snake friend; I originally drew her with a pair of snakes, but there's not enough room in her hood to carry around two large vipers, haha.

Draekard stuff!

First image was me having fun looking up screen shots of TLK Scar and redrawing them on Pyro, and it turned into a cluster. Back in 1998, he was based on Scar, so it was interesting to do (middle and lower left aren't referenced)!

Then there's a really angry Pyro, and a judgemental Blaise.

I used to RP on Furcadia for a while, and made furry versions of a lot of my OCs. Spider remains one of my fave designs from that time, and I had the random urge to draw the maned wolf/blue jay hybrid that he was not too long ago.

My Elfquest oc, Viper, and her wolf, Snowstar, napping in the forest. I intended to keep the coloring simple on this, but was then compelled to add mossy rocks, and proper forest ground cover, oops! Ref used for the snoozing wolf.

It’s been a while since I’ve drawn her. There’s some stuff that’s off, but this is better than nothing!
