Classicstober day 21: Psyche🏹🦋
From the moment atop the mountain, dressed in bridal garb, awaiting the monster her father has decided to marry her off to. Also the moment Eros lays his eyes on her and instantly falls in love💘

An e-offering to the soul goddess Psyche.
Tonight little devotional act for Psyche is putting on her playlist, lighting her candle and doing a little color by number photo of some butterflies. :3
Day 2 of the 20-day deity Work challenge
The prompt was to meditate on a photo or multiple of our chosen deities and notice what feelings it evokes in us and take those in.
I wanted to share some photos and artwork of Psyche that I really adore.
From left to right and top to bottom some info on these works of art.
Psyche and Cerberus by Elizabeth Gardner Bouguereau
1870; oil on wood panel
Psyche by John Reinhard Weguelin
1890; oil on canvas
Psyche Entering Cupids Garden by John William Waterhouse
1903; oil on canvas
Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss by Antonio Canova
1787-1793; marble statue
There are multiple feelings that are evoked in me when I look at these art pieces but mostly variations of awe. There's just the general awe I get looking at older artwork. There's just something so beautiful and awe-inspiring about it. Though now that Psyche is a deity I'm worshipping there's a different wonder and excitement I get seeing them. I feel a stronger connection to the art because of it. These are also scenes inspired by Psyche and Eros' story so seeing them reminds me and helps me better imagine the beautiful scenes in their myth and reminds me how much I love it.
Art of Psyche is not something I see super often crop up randomly so whenever I do see it scrolling the internet I get so excited about it. It's always something so stunning in my opinion.
