Welcome To the Team, Jamie
We had another addition to the team this, weekend. Well, Jamie's not really new to the team, just to racing. She's been a very enthusiastic cheer squad all by her self several times at races. She was already part of Hapi-Go's cheer team.
At Psycho cross, I heard some of the team trying to convince her to race, and I didn't actually think she would, but when I heard she had decided to, I was excited. We all were, and we were really happy to have her out there racing with us during the women's race at 2. After the race, she admitted that, "The most fun part of the race is right after it's done". Oh, how right. It always hurts when you're doing it, but afterwards, you always remember how fun it was. We were all so proud of Jamie, for not being afraid to try something new on the spur of the moment. On her first race ever, she faced mud, slippery turns, dismounts for barriers, and carrying a borrowed mtb up a set of stairs, all with a smile on her face while still figuring out this racing thing.
So proud of you, Jamie! Hope you enjoyed racing enough to try it agian some time, and look forward to riding or hanging out with you at more races in the next few months.
Psycho Cross this Sunday
Psycho Cross this Sunday Well, the Crusades are over, and the last GP race isn't for another week. But the season isn't quite done. There is a race in Eugene Sunday, called Psycho Cross. (Here's the flyer http://www.obra.org/flyers/2012/psycho_cross.html). It's bound to be small, with a good chance of placing well, and it's going to be the same course as the state champs the next weekend, December 1st. Good chance to preview the championship course, and gain an edge for then. It's also a great opportunity to make a lot of team points, especially in the juniors, and try to move Hap-Go! up to 4th in the BAR. No Crusade-sized crouds. No pressure. Just a very fun day, with a fun course, featuring twisty single track, mud, a rocky decent, and fast flat stretches. Hope to see you this weekend. We'll try to keep this updated with team events.
