tonight's brocedes thoughts... i just think its crazy that lewis was asked by bbc in may 2016 if he thought it "possible for two people to be as close as you guys [nico & lewis] were while being teammates?" and answered with an outright no. he said “it’s not. i mean, i don’t think it’s possible.”
saying that when he's a black man from stevanage with no strong financial background with 7 wdcs and wins with mclaren mercedes and ferrari is kind of crazy to me,, none of that would be possible if lewis didn't try enough, if he didn't fight for it enough (and it's amazing that he did! i just don't think any other person would persist through all of the obstacles lewis faced and still come out strong)
i think the thesis of brocedes is literally just how much were they willing to fight for it. it's not about whether it's "possible" or not for them to be friends, its about whether lewis AND nico were willing to fight for it or not. and like nico said in the hp podcast this year: "when you [nico & lewis] fight for a world championship you’ll always compromise the friendship for getting the world championship."
they were never going to fight for it, and maybe that's what hurts the most
