JANUARY IS VOCATIONAL SERVICE MONTH One of the most important aspects of Rotary is building relationships. Learning about professions and job involvement is one of those foundation stones to creating an environment in our Rotary Clubs which builds relationships. Often during the introduction of a new member there can be glimpses of what job choice has been made. And there are those occasional programs devoted to Rotary membership classification talks where a new member or a more seasoned member shares their life story and work experiences. Intriguing, interesting and informative are words that will often describe these classification talks. New and innovative work positions are being created in our world. Vocational Service month is a great time to celebrate and learn about the life work of our members, whether it is a profession that has lots of history or newly established. This month and in the months ahead, take some time during your club meetings to have Rotarians share their stories of what they do to impact their world. Enhancing Rotary’s Public Image and Awareness • Promote awareness INTERNALLY among Rotarians. The learnings of OLD needs to be enhanced. Rotary has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception. Rotarians must not wait for trainings and updates to happen. The official RI website is a rich source of NEW information. Rotarize yourself. Rotarize one another. Be better Rotarians. • EXTERNALLY, let us all think of how we can spread the word and make everyone aware of Rotary. We need to make people aware of who we are, what we do, and what we stand for. Be a BRAND CHAMPION. Act and speak in one voice and that is — ROTARY. So for this month of January, let’s think of ways that we can get our message out to others: Let’s Do It, Let’s Talk About Rotary, Let’s make a difference! WE SALUTE THE FIFTY-FIVE ROTARIANS AND SPOUSES FROM DISTRICT 3860 WHO HAVE REGISTERED TO THE TAIPEI INSTITUTE Dear Great Governors and District Coordinators, With more than 26 days to go before the Institute, the Host Organizing Committee had decided to suspend/close the online registration after achieving the target goals much earlier than expected. As of yesterday, the total number of registered and paid delegates from the Philippines had already reached 374. We could have reached 400 delegates were it not for the suspension 5 days before October 31. At any rate, with 374, we have surpassed already previous records of Institute attendance from Philippines. In behalf of Institute Convener PRID Frederick Lin, Institute Chair PDG Surgeon and Vice Chair PDG Ed Tumangan and the Promotion Team from Philippines, we would like to thank all of you for your utmost cooperation and support to this great institute. We look forward to see and welcome everybody at the 2017 Taipei Rotary Instutute on December 1-3, 2017. We will send you later copies of the Institute Program and suggested attire for the duration of the Institute.
