Jack would totally be the one who came back with a stray dog/cat and Merida would be like, "not again." or it's Rapunzel who always came to their house with a stray dog/cat when she knew Flynn wouldn't approve of more "pets" in their house and pleads Merida and Jack to take the animal in and at first they both are reluctant but then Jack plays with it after five minutes and then he just, "okay you don't understand merida but we have to keep her forever."

When you said that Rapunzel brings them the strays I imagined them with LOTS of strays already and that's why Merida was against another one which is understandable, specially on their middle sized apartment

but with the animal's puppy eyes, Jack's own puppy eyes, the other animals doing their noises frustrates Merida and so she has a little explotion and lets the new animal stay, on the condition that Jack takes full chores for the week; he accepts of course, but doesnt understand the extend of the condition until 3 hours into the chores without help
