Character Solidifying Meme
☠ 1. How does your character think of their father? What do they hate and love about him? What influence - literal or imagined - did the father have?
I think it’s pretty obvious that Casey admires his father, apparently having mentioned to April and Irma that he was a pro hockey player many times.Like most sons, they look up to their dad’s, despite their faults. Casey has this puppy-like way of being where it seems as though once he clings onto something he loves, he’s there to stay. I feel like that’d be the way it is with his dad.Though we don’t know much about his family, I’m still going on the assumption that Casey’s dad is a little like how he is in the IDW comics. (This Casey seems to share most traits with IDW Casey)So I would imagine the thing he likes least about his father is the neglect that he tries desperately to overlook. Simply on the basis of ‘because, well, he’s my dad.’Still going on assumptions, I’d imagine he’d love who his dad used to be. Back when he was a hockey star and not a wash-up, back to when his mom was alive. Projecting past memories onto a present fatherI think it’s pretty easy to say that the biggest influence Arnold Bernid Sr. had on CJ would be hockey. That, and most likely attitude. The cocky, graceless arrogance Casey tends to have a keen talent for.
☠ 2. Their mother? How do they think of her? What do they hate? Love? What influence - literal or imagined - did the mother have?
I’d say he loved her a lot. In Buried Secrets, he seems to show a crazy amount of understanding for April’s situation. His voice cracks at the word ‘Mom’ when they’re sharing a moment on the swing. He probably thought the world of her.As for what he hates and loves— they’re probably fairly similar.Once again, assuming his mother was most like IDW Casey’s. Also assuming he projects that a little into his crush on April (which is a VERY common thing for boys to do.) He probably hated how forgiving she could be. But loved it all the same. I could see her being a fairly nurturing, yet very strong woman. Much like how April is. I’d say that’s what he loved about her most. The love she had while still being stronger than anyone he knew.Casey’s understanding, charming nature was probably unfluenced by her. Of course, those pieces of himself don’t really show itself unless it’s needed, due to his dad having more influence over him. But it’s still a big part of who he is, as was his mother’s life in his own.
☠ 3. Brothers, sisters? Who do they like? Why? What do they despise about their siblings?
One little sister for Mr. Jones!Let’s go on my headcanon thinking she’s Angel (from 03 and the IDW comics.)I can see Casey being a really great older brother, so he’d probably like that about her. The fact that he’s the big bro. Also sharing interests or getting to tell her stories or teach her what he can. Casey’s a natural protector, so being able to protect her would be one of the things he enjoys about her too.As for despising? He’s an older brother!Like I said, assuming she IS Angel, she’s probably unbelievably stubborn. Headstrong. Doesn’t like to listen. Too much like him. And if there’s anyone that’s hard to deal with— it’s Casey Jones!A younger, brattier version of that? Annoying! He’d despise having to keep things away from her. Make sure she doesn’t go through his stuff. Not being able to protect her. The usual sibling stuff.
Free feels? Once a week Casey drives out to the main road where he has a cellphone signal and he tries to call his father\sister but it always goes straight to voicemail~~
☠LEAVE MY HOUSE AT ONCE YOU MONSTER
☠ Since a lot of Casey RPers make their muse detest anything 'girly', here's small list of femme or girl-related things I imagine Casey liking:
Sailor Moon (he likes Usagi)
Powerpuff Girls
Hello Kitty (he thinks she's cute but he's quiet about it)
Steven Universe
Princess Mononoke
Mulan
Kim Possible (duh)
Girl Punk (The Distillers, Joan Jett)
Tangled & Brave
Jem
Ouran Highschool Host Club
Amy from Sonic
Kaomojis-- especially ones including flowers (✿◕ヮ◕)
Also plays as Baby Peach if Dry bones isn't available in Mario Kart (or just because)
Aaand aside from Franky, Nami is his favourite character in One Piece
☺
☺ - Do they prefer sour or sweet treats?
> Sour! That’s pretty predictable, of course, but the reason why is actually kind of funny.Casey finds extreme foods (like spicy or sour) to be a challenge. A challenge the Jones simply just cannot back down from. He’s the type of kid that would shove a fistfull of warhead candies in his mouth, sit there stomping his feet and crying but refusing to spit them out.Though, he still loves sweet treats. He’d probably favor dessert skittles just as much as he does the sour ones.

♥ - What does ‘love’ mean to them?
> To be honest, I’m not too sure Casey even knows. ‘Love' is a weird concept to him, especially when you're fighting with a brain that's both wildly immature, but also speckled with mature insights beyond his years.I think the main meaning to him would be, is to feel comfortable. Being able to talk openly, feel openly— break down the cracked walls he’s built around himself.Sounds a little deep for a goober like Case, but whether it seems like it or not, he does have walls built around him. Not feeling like he has to prove anything around someone, but rather proving himself because he wants to— without feeling obligated… that would be what love is to him.
♣ - What is one thing that they find embarrassing? (About them, others, things in general)

♣ - What is one thing that they find embarrassing? (About them, others, things in general)
> Casey is generally fairly shameless, so not much really embarrasses him. Though, due to his crappy ‘cool’ facade, he’s kind of embarrassed by his own emotions. Of course he doesn’t mind showing his caring side, and can be very genuine when the situation calls for it— but say, if someone found a scrap piece of his homework with April’s name handwritten on the back of it, his face and ears would go red in seconds.
♪ - Are they musically inclined?
> I have this headcanon that Casey is actually a fairly good singer, but he just assumes he isn’t because of the type of person he is. This headcanon, of course, comes from the fact that Josh Peck is freakishly good singer even whe he’s being a doof about it.I also like the idea of that contrast. Filthy punk kid with a really nice voice— everyone would be shocked. Even Casey once he’s told that he actually sings really nicely.
✕ - How do they handle rejection?
> Casey, despite being kind of a brainless idiot, is actually chocked full of emotions. It’s pretty obvious, considering he painted a huge mural of his crush— something he’d actually need a ladder for and more than five hours to paint. It depends on the rejection, of course. Rejected from doing something? He just sort of pouts and recovers fairly quick. Kind of like a puppy being told ‘no’.But when it comes to being rejected by a crush, he’d just shut down. Going from all of these emotions to just shutting them all off because he doesn’t know how else to cope. Not that Case becomes a robot— but he just becomes sort of a shell of what he was used to be until he recovers. He’d be very solemn. Distant. Not wanting to be around people because, as said above, he’d be embarrassed by his emotions. Also feeling a little betrayed by them. So he’d just shut down and shut off the world for a long while, only being able to pretend he’s the same goofy kid as before… and doing a piss-poor job of it, too.

✓ - How do they react to praise?
> It depends on who’s praising him and the situation, of course, but often it’s with his own punk-brand of bashfulness.Hunching his shoulders or giving a shrug, hands in pockets with a crooked self-assured smirk. But, this being Casey, on the other hand he’ll also act smug as hell."Wow Casey, you’re amazing!""You say that like I don’t already know."Either conceited or bashful, depending on the situation. Of course, more often conceited, to hide the fact that he’s genuinely elated by any compliments given to him. Gotta be cool, right?
