Day 17: A pairing you never thought would work, but did.
Jackie and Hyde. Plot twist af!!
Like really who in the world saw that coming??
Remember when Jackie and Kelso had broken up and Jackie had developed her crush on Hyde and he wanted zero to do with her at first? Then small feelings crept in when that one dude insulted her, and they had their first date, but apparently felt nothing when they kissed? Well, Jackie said she didn't feel anything....Hyde seemed like he did.
So I figured bit was done. Cute moment while it lasted.
Two seasons later.....
And thus started the best relationship in That 70s Show history. Seriously, I put that ish higher than Kitty and Red, and they are really really high.
I didn't think it would be all that in the beginning. Face value, it was cute, but I thought it was going to be a fling. Just a lot of them making out until Kelso came up with some bull to get Jackie back.
However, as they started to develop more and Jackie started to mature a little bit more and Hyde stared showing his softer side, I began to really really like then together. Shoot, physically they even looked better together that Jackie and Kelso.
I stopped watching after Eric left and they brought that new guy in, and I probably would have picked it back up if Jackie didn't start dating Fez (I love Fez but cringe), but I really was rooting for those two. They balanced each other out nicely. He helped Jackie mature and learn that not everything was about her and that there was more to the world than the superficial stuff she focused on, and Jackie brought out Hyde's softer side, showed that he deserved love and affection, taught him to loosen up a bit more, and helped motivate and better himself to do more for himself than just accept that he wasn't going to amount to anything.
I think there should be a That 70s Show reunion where they meet up at a school reunion or something and rekindle their romance. They are wonderful for each other. The ultimate TV OTP.
I think I feel a marathon coming on.....
