Kinky.
This is what I did yesterday. Took me 5 packs of Zury Marley hair (they are super stingy in each pack, but the hair is softer than any other Marley hair I've tried). I used 3 pieces of the Marley hair per twist ( I did not cut the hair), except in a few areas of my edges where I used only 2 pieces, since they're fragile and I wanted to keep the weight/tension down in those places. I've done a better job on my twist extensions in the past, but I think the softness of this hair-- the very thing I liked about it in the past-- is what worked against me, when using more than one piece, per twist. I usually only use one, but I was going for a Havana/kinky twist hybrid style. I found that the twists were unravelling and sometimes just going weird on me after completing them, leaving me to redo and retwist a lot. Ultimately, these aren't really kinky twists, nor Havana twists, but it's a decent job enough to give myself a break from my hair. The plan is to keep these in for 6-8 weeks, depending on how they hold up; and, I'll redo the perimeter at the halfway mark, which will be either 3 or 4 weeks. I did use the "invisible method" (just search YouTube), where you start the extensions with a twist, to make it look more natural. I've gotten fairly competent at this, since it was my second go around. But, next time, I'll definitely be using my Fingercomber hair. That's what I used to do true Havana twists, earlier this year. I loved the look, and the hair blended with my own better than any Marley hair I've tried, but I hated the stiffness/bulkiness of them. It limited me with styling more than I could have anticipated. Methinks I can find a happy medium between that installment and this one, on the next try. Will keep you updated!
