Tea Blog!

I had to buy more tea despite being broke AF because it was cheaper than the other options I had - ie: get to a chemist and get something medical for this killer heartburn. 

So I went and got some Three Mint Pukka Tea.

The ingredients are: Peppermint leaf, spearmint tea and fieldmint tea. Now, I HATE mint so, so much, but I hate heartburn more - I’ve eaten nothing but oatmeal and beans for 5 days, and I have to do SOMETHING. 

So, like all the Pukka Teas, this has a stupid long infusion - up to 15 minutes! WHY would anyone wait 15 minutes to get a drink? This is the dumbest thing I have ever read in my life. 15 minutes. WHY? This is so dumb.

I added sweetener. 

It actually smells nice? Like I expected it to smell like toothpaste and it doesn’t. Waiting 15 minutes though. Why?!

Okay, so. It tastes VERY subtle. Way more than I was expecting, especially with my dislike of mint. The aftertaste is cool, and a little minty, but honestly... it’s not bad. I could drink this. I could drink this when I’m not dying of heartburn, even. 

I’m not sure why this is pushing the three MINT aspect because it’s so damn subtle that I - as a mint hater - really like this?

It certainly wouldn’t be my go-to tea, but right now, when everything else is causing me more pain than I can cope with, this is the bomb. 

Gets cold fucking fast though cause you have to wait 15 MINUTES to make it.

Rootling through my yarn stash in search of something to knit a hat with I came to the dramatic conclusion that I need more yarn! Specifically I need DK weight or heavier. This is the sum total of my "heavier weight" yarn that isn't allocated to a sweater project. I might have to double up some 4ply instead or I could celebrate the start of #wovember2017 and go yarn shopping. Over on my blog yesterday I launched my #hatsforhumans KAL. Best way to spend an evening is in my pjs, under a blanket with a good book (an old classic and one of my faves today) and a cup of camomile tea (in a Potter mug obviously) :)
