I'm really pleased with how this little hat turned out. I'm holding the yarn double as it's @blackeryarns Tamar 4ply and I really like the marled effect you get when you combine the colours. I really must get my stash organisation under control. Whilst having a little rootle a few days ago I can across these two perfect grey skeins of @thefibrecompany Cumbria yarn that I had totally forgotten about. I was just thinking that I needed some DK weight yarn for a hat and then lo and behold - there it was. At least I found it before I bought new yarn which is what I normally end up doing. Rootling through my yarn stash in search of something to knit a hat with I came to the dramatic conclusion that I need more yarn! Specifically I need DK weight or heavier. This is the sum total of my "heavier weight" yarn that isn't allocated to a sweater project. I might have to double up some 4ply instead or I could celebrate the start of #wovember2017 and go yarn shopping. Over on my blog yesterday I launched my #hatsforhumans KAL. Born from a discussion around the pointlessness of making hats for little bottles (Innocent smoothie bottles) I'm encouraging everyone to knit a hat for a human this month. About as close to socks as I get in my knitting. Left to right. Yoga anklet, anklet with rounded short-row toe, yoga anklet with extra length at ball of foot. Each also has a rounded short-row heel and a small tab in the heel. All worked from toe up.
