#1136-1151: Hourly Comic Day 2017
Today I participated in Hourly Comic Day, an event in which one draws a cartoon for every hour while they are awake. I posted mine throughout the day on Instagram and Facebook with the intention to collect them all here at the end.
This was quite an experience for me. I’d seen this done by other cartoonists in the past (the event began in 2006) but this was my first attempt at it. I tell you, it is a lot of work. I wouldn’t have been able to do it if I had a full time job outside of the house or if I had a bunch of errands to run.
I was rushing, but each cartoon took me on average 15 minutes to draw. That’s a quarter of an hour which means that a quarter of today was spend drawing. Not a practical discipline for everyday. I’m glad that I have settled into a routine of doing one cartoon a night. I even find that to be tough to do five nights a week with a 1-year-old who often doesn’t cooperate in the evening sleeping hours.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this look into my daily routine. If I am able, I’ll be a part of Hourly Comic Day 2018!
