#pullet eggs

Okay I was disappointed in the Midnight Majesty Marans, but the second one has redeemed them. Behold her first egg!

It's as dark brown as I could ever want and as an added bonus it's actually a size large instead of the other smallish pullet eggs I've been getting. Not sure if the other Marans just had a poor initial equipment shakedown or if the egg genetics missed her line, but her compatriot is pulling her weight in making my egg basket colorful.

Gathered today's pullet eggs (those Sapphire Gems are hitting the ground running with an egg each everyday!):

Well lookee here. The normal pullet egg is on the right (it's medium egg sized). The one on the left is larger than a jumbo, poor girl.

Well let's open it up and see:

Yep, double yolker! Extra breakfast this morning!
