When you put your pump site on your thigh, how does it feel? I need new places to put mine because of scar tissue. Does it hurt? Also, in the summer when you wear short shorts, can you see your site or do you put it high up on the leg where it's hidden? does it get in the way of doing things? and do you let the cord hang out, or do you like, put the pump up your shorts so the cord is inside your shorts so it doesnt get caught on things? sorry, just curious..
No need to apologize! I'm always here to help :)
That was actually only the second time I put it on my thigh, as I needed new places due to scar tissue as well. I've only ever put it on the side of my thigh, I haven't tried the top yet. It didn't hurt putting it in, but once the site was in it hurt a tiny bit if I pushed on it or when it was delivering the insulin. You can't put the site too high up, it should be about a hands width from the top of your leg, and also a hands width up from your knee. So when I wear short shorts (which is practically all I wear in the summer) yes, you can see it. It doesn't really get in the way of doing things, but you have to be careful when you're taking off your pants because you don't want to accidentally rip it out. Yes, I put it up the front of my shorts (I'll post a picture of how I do it, but my site isn't on my thigh right now, but you'll get the idea) The tube sometimes hangs out a little bit so you'll have to be sure that you tuck it back in so you don't get it caught on anything.
Here's the picture. (sorry about how huge my thighs are)
My pump is clipped to the waistband of my shorts and the tubing is tucked inside, with only a little hanging out so it can get to where the site would be
