Listen, I’m glad that you like my writing, and I appreciate that you like it enough to read it. But please don’t interfere with my writing. My face when I see blatant mischaracterizaion of the moo.

He’s not an u w u bean. He is not a cinnamon roll. He wasn’t nerfed. At no point was he entirely irrelevant. He abused Blake at a very vulnerable age, and for an extended period of time, which affected how she interacted with others even all the way up until volume 4, over a year since she left him. Adam is responsible for Blake’s inability really connect with her team quickly, and damaged her own self-image. That is not irrelevance.

He was an active threat to Blake for all of her time in Menagerie, because was literally sending orders to murder her fucking parents. He also upheld the status of lurking threat to Blake being that he was not physically near her, but he still influenced her behavior, thoughts, and actions because of past abuse.

He was also a lurking threat to Yang after Beacon, being present in nightmares and flashbacks as the person who was able to cut through her aura and cut her fucking arm off. And might I remind you, he was Very quick to throw Beacon in her face.

The trauma that Adam probably suffered in whatever led to his being branded like that was undoubtedly horrific. And he’s had time to adjust to whatever visual impairment that scar must bring, to the point where he can fight effectively with his eyes covered, so I highly doubt that it was recent, so I can’t imagine he got it after he started becoming an abusive monster.

Adam probably did not deserve what happened to him in his much earlier life. It probably was only done to him because he was a faunus, and that is wrong. No one deserves to be branded like livestock. That’s sick.

But multiple other characters have had awful things happen to them, including abuse, and have not become the kind of people that Adam is. Lie Ren’s parents were killed horrifically, in a traumatic event, that he bore some degree of witness to. Weiss Schnee, and presumably her siblings, grew up with a controlling and emotionally (and physically) abusive father, and Weiss spent almost half her life with an alcoholic mother.

None of them have shown intent to kill people and their families simply because they aren’t getting their way.
