Whole Lotta Red: the underrated album. A lot of people won’t appreciate this because they will assume that Carti is trying to create a rap album. This is not the case. Whole Lotta Red is in a completely different genre, some calling it punk pop. To me, it sounds like New Age Rock-and Carti has been telling us that he’s really a rockstar in every single one of his songs. Maybe he never wanted to be a “rapper”. The fans demanded WLR and leaked out so much of his music he was forced to produce an album, so he said “Fuck it, I’ma make music I love”. It really is a good album-just not rap.
