I think everybody knows that i'm not okay at this point so- i'm just gonna say it.

i'm not okay. i'm not okay at all. i'm struggling a lot with my mental health and i've been feeling really demotivated to do a lot of stuff lately- i'm probably gonna be less active on here especially during June. I need to focus on my work otherwise I genuinely will lose everything. I'm not kidding.

I also want to apologize for my random radio silence on here, I haven't been feeling well again and I just really don't know what to say to be completely honest. So... yeah.. i'm really sorry for leaving you guys in the dark for a while.

One thing I am absolutely glad to have forgotten about Age of Ultron is that Ultron was presented as obsessed with evolution but kept going on about biblical Christian end times like Do you realize how much less forgettable this movie coulda been had he gone on and on about evolutionary theory

i feel so fucking useless. i just wanted to do something fun and cute with my girlfriend, but just... fucking anxiety. I was looking forward to reading fanfics together- i mean, we watch movies and stuff together all the time- but as soon as we got in that call i just kinda froze. i know she doesn’t have a mic. i’ve known for as long as i’ve known her. but the silence was just too fucking much and i couldn’t even speak. i felt like i was being watched and being judged even though i know she would never judge me like that.

at least i didn’t start crying until we ended the call. i don’t know how i would have handled that humiliation.

oddly, I feel like jk rowling's tweets about religion and lgbt in relation to what was provided canonically opens up a big talk of colonialism and british magic

like I refuse to believe that other types of magic don't exist in the potterverse or that there was lgbt or religious representation. we can talk all we like about the lgbt representation (or lack thereof) but you cannot handwave away this 'one type of magic only' as being exclusive to british magic when you have the Salem Witches Academy in the U.S. and potentially other magical schools established during colonial times in other parts of the world

let's have secret bubbles of non-british magic spreading and preserving what little of their magical world remains after the british wizards came through and 'educated' the culture with their own way of performing magic

magical people who have difficulty learning and performing british magic finding that their native, natural magic comes to them much easier (hebrew incantations or pagan spells, as such) and go in search of this style that not only feels right to them but has a culture attached that is respective of their religious beliefs

magical people starting to realize just how much they're expected to conform to this specific style of magic and religion (sometimes hanukkah comes really early you guys how do you think that ONE jewish student at hogwarts would feel being in a place without their family for THEIR holiday while the entire school talks about their christmas plans and how pretty hogwarts looks with the twelve christmas trees like can you imagine being eleven and surrounded by people entrenched in a holiday you don't celebrate [not that that isn't how it is right now in the real world] but it would be SUCH a curveball finding a place where you fit in with your weirdness only to learn that "oh yeah you're like the only one here who celebrates that... whatever it is" not to even begin to mention yom kippur in third year through seventh not eating or drinking for one day a year and chances are it falls on a weekday so you have classes [worse if there's astronomy class on the evening it starts or maybe a quidditch practice/game that you're a part of the morning of that day] but yeah back to hanukkah sometimes it happens as early as the last week of november and imagine being a little eleven-year-old and learning that you are the only person in the entire castle who celebrates it let alone knows that "there's other holidays besides christmas?")
