Raagi Bhai Avtar Singh Ji playing Raag Kalyaan Shaan on his Taus(stringed intrument. Accompanying him on Jori is Bhai Swaran Singh Ji. On the occasion of World Music Day.. sharing a track by the late legend Bhai Saheb Bhai Avtar Singh Ji.. Yes, Gurmat Sangeet or Gurmat/Gurbaani Kirtan is a unique genre in its own right bestowed upon by the SikhGurus to the world ! Gurmat Sangeet - the art and science of singing and playing the hymns of the sacred Sikh scriptures in the prescribed Raagas, and with the original string instruments created and promoted by the Sikh Gurus in the historic times. Here BhaiSaheb is playing "Shaan", as we call it - an introductory playing of the Raag which is to be played with his Taus (a stringed instrument). This track really inspires me,I just love it !
