All of you ocs look amazing! Any tips on character design?

Oh man uhhhhhh

Research?

Make sure to do a lot of research because sometimes little small things can take a character a long way, like if you take Hollow Knight for example, learning small things about whatever bug your character is can become quirks or cute design additions to your character!

Don’t stress yourself out if a character’s design keeps changing. It happens and it’s natural. You’ve seen how many times my characters have changed over the course of the last two months. lol

It is not completely vital to have your character fully integrated into a setting. Sometimes a character is just for funsies and silly godmodding. There is no such thing as a Mary Sue/Gary Stu. Make emg bright colors if you want (though a good color scheme is a very good thing to research and think about if you want to integrate a character seamlessly into an environment), give em crazy powers, just have fun!

LET. YOUR. CHARACTERS. HAVE. FLAWS. I cannot stress this enough. Let your characters be multi-faceted. Let your characters be fucking assholes sometimes, let them misunderstand or take things the wrong way. Let them be a normal person with normal feelings. If you want to make them perfect all the time that’s fine, but if you’re really going for a deep storyline, let your characters have flaws. That way they can work past the flaws and develop as people.

Those are a couple things I suppose lol Might not seem like the best advice ever but it’s what I do.

How do you choose names for your ocs?

They’re either completely spontaneous and sound cute or I actually spend a good amount of time doing research there’s no inbetween lol
