You know one thing I am nostalgic about today? The @purgethebots saga. There wasn't such a time of organized Tumblr userbase to do some positive good in... I don't know how long, if ever.

36,815 reblogs, but only 183 likes? Does that ratio seem a little off to you?

You dO know what that is, right? It’s a porn spambot, and the thousands of bot account aliases it uses.

When a blogger who posts stuff like this follows you, it’s almost guaranteed to be a spammer. One of the alias accounts followed me recently, not the “grosstitute” account.

Pro tip: Don’t just block the one bot that followed you, also block the main bot account. (Hopefully this post doesn’t get flagged for “female presenting nipples”)

Tumblr users annoyedpenis and makinakiwako have been hacked by bots.

They were once real users, which can be seen by their bios and by scrolling past all the bot posts. Their blogs are currently filled with pornbot spam posts. But if you scroll down far enough, you can see posts from when the blogs were run by a real person, the last of which were in April and June, respectively. The bot posts started yesterday and on October 25, respectively.

There is no way to report hacking incidents on Tumblr’s report form so I’m doing this.

Please signal boost because I want the original users to regain access to their blogs instead of having them straight-up deleted.
