The thing is when you have enough internalised homophobia and fear of encountering homophobia any awkwardness you might normally feel about liking something that maybe someone who knows you might think is weird can be multiplied by about ten million if the thing also happens to be gay, even if the person in question both already knows you're gay and is extremely unlikely to be homophobic about it, and this can persist no matter how comfortable you are being loud and weird and gay in your little online bubble you know
