I just did my yearly-or-so re-read of Don't Let It Go To Your Head and... God. So many thoughts. So many emotions. Nostalgia. Yearning to continue. Loss.
One of these days, if it is made clear that the collaboration and story is really over, I promise I will release the planned plot and story building and unposted writing that there is so people (and myself) can get closure with it. I think that's only fair.
Hi! I had a thought after seeing your tags on a gifset you recently reblogged from me as well as the text post you made that I agree with 100% about Mon having all the power in their relationship.
I don't think Sam was WAITING (even if subconsciously) for someone to come along to devote herself to. I think it was just Mon who came along who just... Inspired it all in her. Personally, I think it was Mon because Sam had already resigned herself to living her grandmother's life for her and just lived... Kinda neutrally and pretty much shut down. So when Mon came along, Sam was left playing catch up from the getgo as everything inside her told her to do everything she could for her and she jumped in with two feet like it was the most natural thing to do after a few learning curves. And I LOVE that about Sam, and her and Mon's dynamic.
Mon had to learn she was good enough for Sam as she was while Sam did everything in her power to show her she was perfect as she was, all while Mon gave Sam the support, understanding, and love she needed to truly live.
...I think I lost the plot a little bit here, but it all just boils down for me to: UGH but Sam and Mon are PERFECT for each other and I just want to shout it out into the heavens!!!
Hi! Yes, Sam and Mon are definitely perfect for each other! And let’s shout it together!!
But yeah, I have similar thoughts regarding the dynamics between them. Sam, to my reading of her, is someone that doesn’t really think about love and relationship. As you said, she kinda accepted the life her grandmother has set up for her. Then Mon come into her life and she is discovering a whole new world. Here comes someone that is so different from the people in her life, and so intriguing, and so unafraid of her, and willing to fight for what is right, and so willing to push back; and I think Sam was totally floundering in this new feelings and thoughts she has about Mon. And I also think this is the first time in her life that Sam wanting something so much she feels it deep in her bones, which when Mon reciprocates, she decided she would do anything so that she won’t lose her. And that’s why we see she tried and tried and tried again to change for the better, so that she can keep Mon in her life. And also why she is so, so devoted to Mon.
As for Mon, well we know she started loving Sam as a fan. She idolized Sam so much. And to me, that is partly why she has this hung up about the class and socioeconomic gap between her and Sam. Mon is a really well-adjusted kid, as a result growing up in a loving and supportive home. I believe the way she loves and supports Sam, is something intrinsically hers and she does it sub-consciously. To her, it is not something outstanding and just a normal part of loving someone. She feels as if she doesn’t contribute much (thus the sugar baby comment in Ep10. But tbh, she is a sugar baby lol). And that is why Mon doesn’t realised that, to Sam, it is something outstanding and something that Sam needed, and when she has a taste it through Mon, Sam craves for it in her life. And that is why Mon has all the power in the relationship, without her fully knowing it. And even after she got over her insecurities and Sam has convinced her that all Sam need from her is her love and support, Mon would only use her ‘power’ if Sam did something bad.
Even if on the surface it looks like as if the relationship is skewed, the things they need from each other and the things they can offer to each other, are perfectly aligned. That is why they are so perfect for each other. And they are truly made for each other.
P/s: on unserious note, who else will not run away with the way Sam flirted? No one, that is. Only Mon will fall for the idiotic way Sam flirted.
...Realized the last ask might come across as a bit weird, so here's some context: I was thinking about your screencaps today on the drive to work, and I realized that I enjoyed the random pics of the various Glee cast, together and alone, because it allowed me just to enjoy random thoughts and memories and ideas when I saw them. I didn't have to go searching or limit myself in a search. They came to me and I just ENJOYED them. So thank you! Thank you for making a blog that gives me random joy and the ability to reblog and share something that maybe I didn't even know I wanted to. :)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Ahhh thank you so much for this!! I love getting messages on this blog especially lol but idk it’s just sweet and I like knowing people like my stuff, y’know??
But I’ve found a weird enjoyment in it, too tbh. Beyond just like. The routine of capping and editing when I need something to focus on. Like idk it’s just fun to go back and see all these little moments and catch all these split second expressions that are so easy to miss when you watch it normally. I like it lol. So it’s nice to know you do too ♥️♥️
I ADORE the OT3!!! And everything that goes with it. But I also feel like Lily/Frank deserves some spotlight too, so...
(Please imagine the flower language picked yourself, sorry, as I was too lazy to do so myself. And also, can I just say - Lily's goshes throughout the movie???)
***
It's Macgregor who shows Frank where to purchase flowers in London. Frank, arranging a bouquet according to the novel of flower language he'd just read, relaxes when Macgregor beams as he looks it over for him. Already tucking away a few blooms to surprise Macgregor with when he's forgotten about them, Frank tips his hat at the florist before he goes to set up his surprise.
(He also stops off to buy a live plant for the Doctor of Botany to hedge his bets a bit - - or in case Proxima gets to it first. "PROXIMA.")
Rapping on Dr. Houghton's office door, the bouquet hidden behind his back, Frank grins at the distracted return of, "Enter," already knowing what he's going to find as he swings open the door.
Lily, sleeves rolled up and hair tossed up in a messy bun, blinks at him from her seat at a desk piled high with maps and papers, a pen dripping ink tucked on top of one of her ears. "Sorry. Did I forget tea again?" she asks, eyes already dropping to pull the journal she'd been studying to herself again.
"Do I look like your brother?" Frank chuckles.
Lily snorts. "And HOW glad am I of that." She looks up, smiling as Frank walks over. "Then...?"
"Then..." Frank brandishes his bouquet, eyes crinkling, "Just wondering if you wanted to stop and smell these, Pants."
It takes Lily a few moments to realize what she's looking at. But when she does, pink rises on her cheeks, and she reaches out, hand sliding behind Frank's neck to tug him down. Bumping their foreheads together before covering his mouth with her own smiling lips, she can't help but breath after a few heated kisses, "...GOSH, I just KNOW you ACTUALLY really know what those flowers mean, don't you?"
Letting the bouquet go to rest on the desk as he slides his hand down Lily's side, Lily's arms rising to wrap around his neck, Frank's amused, positive answer is happily lost to their prolonged embrace instead.
Yes you're so right!!
I love this, that is such a sweet, perfect fic!!! thank you!
Throwback AU: Ruby and Regina as purely waitress and mayor. :D
1. Ruby is the only one who can make Regina’s coffee exactly as she likes it. She hates coming in and finding Ruby’s not on shift and having to make do with the burnt tasting stuff from the pot. She makes a point to learn Ruby’s shift pattern to avoid this at all costs. (Maybe that’s not the only reason.)
2. One night, Regina is in a booth at Granny’s until near closing time, looking increasingly frustrated. Ruby comes over and finds her struggling to balance a budget for town improvements. Ruby’d always been good with numbers, so they sit and find the problem together. After that, Regina starts talking about the work of the town to Ruby. Turns out politics isn’t as boring as she’d thought.
3. Ruby is the first person to babysit Henry after Regina adopts him. Ruby notices how tired Regina is one morning and makes the offer. After an initially catty response, followed swiftly by an apology, Regina agrees to go home for a nap while Ruby looks after him.
4. It’s Granny who arranges their first date. Fed up of them flirting ineptly and blushing around each other, she invites Regina to the diner. It’s closed, save for a single table set for dinner and lit by a candle. Ruby’s mortified. Regina’s relieved. And that’s that.
5. Regina proposes the night she’s reelected as mayor. Outside Granny’s, where the celebration is taking place, under a full moon. Ruby says yes.
Prompt by @purrpickle: Kim meeting Trini’s brothers for the first time.
***
Kim concentrated. The Ranger Link was useful, but you still couldn’t mind-read. She could tell that Trini was stressed. Like, hella, about-to-punch-a-wall stressed. But it wasn’t mixed with any sort of fear, like when they were out fighting Big Bads. And it wasn’t mixed with sadness, like when Trini fought with her mom. But still...Kim made a decision.
Fifteen minutes later, she was ringing Trini’s doorbell.
Trini answered, looking haggard. “Oh thank god,” she said, pulling Kim into the house. “I got roped into babysitting today.”
“What’s wrong with - Arggh!” Kim yelped, as a NERF ball struck her.
“They’re usually angels, really,” Trini swore. “I think they’re acting out because Mom has been turning her controlling claws on them more.”
“Rambunctious boys? Piece of cake,” Kim said.
“Who’s this?” Twin One asked.
“Is this your giiiiiiirlfriennnnd?” Twin Two added.
“Yes,” Trini said. “This is Kim. Kim, my brothers Roddy and Mikey.”
“Howdy, boys!” Kim chirped. She knelt down to their level. “I hear the two of you are super smart, and really good at building stuff. Is that right?”
“Yeah!” both twins said.
“Well...if that’s the case...maybe you could help me with something? Ever heard of a Rube Goldberg machine?”
The boys shook their heads.

Matteo and Ana Gomez got home later that day to find an interesting structure in their living room. Black Panther was going off on the TV, their boys were asleep on the floor, and Trini and the girl from all of Trini’s pictures were asleep on the couch.
Ana’s eye popped, spotting the girls, but Matteo put a hand on her shoulder and nodded toward the kitchen.
“Relax,” he said. “They’re just taking a nap.”
“They’re sleeping together!” Ana snapped.
“Literally. Love, be reasonable, there’s clearly nothing sexual going on. The boys are in the room, and they were watching a superhero movie. They probably all just fell asleep.”
“It’s inappropriate!”
“How?” Matteo challenged, trying not to smile.
Ana fumed for a second, but calmed. “I just...she never tells me anything. And now she has a girlfriend who’s helping her babysit?”
“And apparently making some fun videos with the boys,” Matteo said. He had picked up the spare video camera that was out on the table, and was running back the tape. “Come on, let’s get dinner started. We’re already in the house, so we can officially meet Trini’s girl before she sneaks her out this time.”
“THIS TIME?” Ana shrieked, waking the four in the living room.
“Oh damn,” Trini muttered. “Well, you’ve met my brothers. Time to meet my parents.”
