Not everyone who loves you and genuinely care about you will understand your dreams and purpose in life. You have to learn to be okay with it and pursue your God given path ferociously. I am not very good at taking criticism or listening to someone speaking about me in a negative manner. As a Nigerian woman from the Yoruba tribe, I was raised to be polite and respectful of elders, so I constantly have to swallow my tongue and listen to elders comment about things they don’t understand or approve of. I have matured and built enough thick skin and discipline to be clear minded and focused enough to go after what I believe in my gut is the direction God wants me to go. It might not be the popular way or a prosperous way ( everyone thinks you have to be stupendously rich to be deemed successful in Africa, lol) but if it feels right, fulfills purpose and glorifies God, then to me that is a HUGE SUCCESS. So, this morning, I want you to be audacious and optimistic about your life and your future. Refuse to follow a path that is not yours and live your authentic life, own your voice and your power and above all, let God be glorified because of you.
