ASU's Pi Kappa Phi Goes the Distance
The fraternity members of Pi Kappa Phi are travelling across the nation by bicycle for one sole purpose: to help those with disabilities. Push America, the philanthropic cause of Pi Kappa Phi, allows brothers to participate in various summer events in order to raise awareness and funds for people with disabilities.
Arizona State University Pi Kappa Phi brothers are involved with this event every year because one of the stops on the route is Tempe. Last year seven ASU Pi Kappa Phi brothers participated in Journey of Hope, including ASU senior Dillon Luther, who cycled from Seattle to D.C. last year — just over 4,000 miles through 13 states! According to Luther, pictured upper left throwing the pitchfork, last year Pi Kappa Phi brothers raised more than $700,000 through this effort.
“It's an awesome experience to be able to hang out with the people we are raising money for,” Luther said, “and to celebrate the abilities they have and what they can teach us.”
