Prayer (cont story from Eternal)
Yugi practically hummed with joy as he rushed of the plane, Atem following him at a slower pace. He paid him no mind as he looked around for his Kaiju, racing to his grandpa. He hugged him tightly, almost to tears.
"It's her, my boy," Suguroku pulled away, placing a badge in Yugi's hand, "Go wait for her. I'll take care of the lizard and his boy."
"Thank you, Grandpa!" Yugi blew a kiss to Atem before ducking into the cave behind the waterfall. Tears came to his eyes as he finally heard music in his mind for the first time in weeks. He didn't care if the egg was sticky, or made of fine threads of silk as he just let himself fall against it, "I'm here, Mothra!"
Music came to Yugi's mind, twin voices singing a chant to him, "The Shobijin," He murmured, "They're telling me what to do, aren't they?" He fell to his knees and began to join the prayer like chant, "Mothra, Oh, Mothra, if we were to call for help, over time, over sea like a wave, you'd come. Our guardian angel, my guardian angel."
Outside, Godzilla's head swung towards the cave, a soft closed mouth rumble starting. Atem turned the same way, humming along with the rumble. He didn't know what they were humming, but he knew Yugi needed him to do this. He could feel it in his heart. He leaned against Godzilla's snout when he leaned his head down. Tears leaked from his eyes, realizing it was some kind of prayer song.
'Come back, Mothra. They're not the same without you,' He prayed. 'Come home.'
Back inside, a loud cracking began as Yugi kept up his chanting prayer, and backed away from the egg. He ran forward when the music in his finally reached that familiar tone and volume, "Mothra!" He threw himself against the monstrous Caterpillar.
"She's home," Atem said, looking up as Yugi came back, Mothra's caterpillar form crawling along behind him, "They're home," He lifted Yugi into his arms as he leapt.
"She's back!" He kept saying over and over as Atem placed small pecks to his cheek, "My Mothra's back!"
