Future Pediatric Oncologist recipient of Hercules Scholarship

Have you met this week’s Hercules Scholar?  Xavier Rice is a sophomore, biology major, from Fort Worth, Tex.

This 4.0 GPA honor student aspires to receive his medical degree and then become a Pediatric Oncologist. 

Some of his campus involvements include: President of the Minority Association Pre-Medical Students (M.A.P.S) chapter and a member of the Prairie View Christian Mime ministry.

He lives by the scripture: “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Prairie View A&M National Alumni Association named September School of the Month partner

Panther Pride has been strong since the start of the campaign. We have partnered with the Prairie View A&M National Alumni Association (PVAMNAA) to raise scholarship funds for students attending Prairie View. 

So far we have already awarded two $1,500 scholarships to deserving male students attending Prairie View, and the next will be announced on Thursday, September 17. 

As a partner with the Tom Joyner Foundation ‘Schools of the Month’, the PVAMNAA and its chapters will be promoted on the Tom Joyner Morning Show and receive those funds raised from listeners, alumni and other interested parties that month. The show, aired in 115 markets around the country, reaches nearly eight million listeners every week.
