Dear God (A letter from a man)

Dear God, Where are you? I haven’t heard from you in a while, granted I don’t listen as intently as I once did, but then again I know you can get any ones attention that you want. Why don’t you talk to your people as much anymore? I read these stories in the Bible where you are practically screaming at people and having everyday conversations with them. Where are our conversations? I would love to chat with you but the thing is I feel like it’s only a one way conversation. Well thanks for the Bible and all I mean I guess it’s pretty cool the only thing is that sometimes I just don’t understand it. I heard this phrase a while back that the Bible can be understood by children yet is still deep enough for an old man or something like that. Well surprisingly I don’t see many children screaming the answers to questions like predestination or any of the other things which have divided up churches in the years. Wait there's something why did you allow so much controversy in you Bible I mean if it’s perfect in word and nothing contradicts it then why do so many people have controversy over it. Now God please understand that no matter what I say in this letter I still believe that you are the almighty power of the universe. There is just something inside of me that won’t let me think otherwise. But you see the only thing is that I don’t understand why you let things happen. Because God really, what good can come from the murdering of children, where is your plan in that. What good comes from the child that was molested and brutally killed last week? I don’t understand where you are when men cry out for you. When we lay hands and knees weeping on the floor, where is your voice? I’m sorry I still have these sins and desires pulling on my heart, but I know I can’t get rid of them without you. Though I have the slightest desire to rid myself of these things and I mostly desire to keep them, why can’t you take them away? What do I need to do to have you in my heart and stay in my heart? I know I need to do it initially and I try to I really do. So where are you when it counts, where you are my courage. You see God I’m asking all these questions now where you are answers, I would love to read your Bible but honestly I don’t feel like filtering through thousands of other words to find the three that fit my situation right now. So tell me, why can’t you just talk to me, why can’t your voice just speak to me right now? I’m tired God. Tired of going back and forth in a relationship with you. I know I can’t stay on this side but when I try to go to yours I am unable to stand on my own, because I have no idea where your “loving” arms are to catch me. God I need to finish this letter right now, and I’m telling you right now, I am always available for when you want to reply.
